1931 Ford Model A
Do you want to drive something that literally
no one else has? This woody sedan delivery
was completely custom fabricated by myself. I
have been a mechanic and custom car builder
for 39 years. Virtually everything you see in
the photos was hand fabricated. The wood
body, cowl and firewall, grill and grill
shell, the carburetor scoop, the lakes
headers, exhaust, etc., all hand built. The
grill is made up of 66 two inch squares
welded together. The headlight assemblies are
from a 1939 Dodge pickup. The body rests on
an extensively modified 1985 Toyota pickup
frame that utilizes Mustang rack and pinion
steering. The frame looks as good as the
body, it has IFS and front disc brakes. It
rides on Wheel Vintiques smoothies with
bullet center caps wrapped in new Coker wide
whitewalls. It's powered by a fresh 351W 4
barrel Ford engine with ported early small
chamber heads backed by a C4 transmission.
Most of the exterior of the engine was
smoothed before it was painted. To give you
an idea of how much detail went into this
build, I spent 24 hours smoothing and porting
the intake manifold alone. I spent another 6
hours polishing the vintage M/T valve covers.
The interior has a custom built seat with
diamond tufted upholstery and a vintage
walnut steering wheel. The shifter is custom
fabricated. Looking at the build photos you
can see the extent of the detail I put into
this build which took 4 years to complete.
Commissioning a build like this would cost
you at least double the price I'm asking and
the car is basically a fresh build. It has
been awarded 1st place in it's class. It was
supposed to be awarded "best traditional hot
rod" by the world renowned Roadmen car club
but they decided to give the award to a club
member instead. It has also been featured in
two magazines as well as many newspapers.
This hot rod gets attention where ever it
goes. Want to get noticed? This is your car!
