1970 AMC REBEL MACHINE
(including rare & $$$
extras)
NO TRADES
I'm selling my Rebel
Machine after 14 years.
It starts and runs
nicely. I recently
replaced the master
cylinder and changed the
oil this October and I
just replaced the
battery in November.
It is actually mostly
original, and the
important missing
original parts were
painstakingly found and
are included. Please let
me know if you have any
questions.
It's a really nice rare
ride that everyone loves
once they see it (only
1k in R/W/B and under 3k
overall vs. over 197k
Mustangs). Every local
car show that I took it
to it won.
Specifications:
390 V-8 (340hp/430fp
torque)
Heavy Duty Engine
Cooling System.
Power Steering
Hurst 4-speed shifter
Close ratio 4 speed T-10
Borg Warner transmission
AMC model 20 Twin-Grip
limited-slip
differential
Grip ratio: 3:54:1
(unconfirmed)
15″ Kelsey-Hayes wheels
(original Machine
specific wheels)
R/W/B (repainted)
25A Frost White (P-72)
Electric Blue (B-6) Red
Streak Graphic Kit
Functional Ram-Air Hood
Scoop with Vacuum-
Actuated Flapper Valve
(original and included)

8,000 rpm) (Not working
likely due to the
wiring, see photos)
Dual-Exhaust System
(special low back
pressure mufflers and
larger exhaust pipes)
Brakes
Front: 11.14” caliper 4
piston disc
Rear: 10” drum
Suspension
Front: Independent upper
A-arm/lower control arm
with twin ball joints,
shocks
Rear: Four-link trailing
arms, coil springs,
shocks
Handling Package (H-D
springs & shocks, plus
H-D wagon rear springs)
Rear Sway Bar

Spare Tire (on regular
14” Orange-painted
wheel) and bottle
inflator

w/ rear speaker mounts)
OEM items needed for an
original restoration

consider them actually
rare. It took me 5 years
to locate a pair) $$$$
Intake manifold (almost
as rare and really
heavy) $$$
2 Motorcraft Autolite
carburetors with extra
parts (I was told it's
enough to build one OEM
Autolite 2400) $
RIMBLOW steering wheel
(beautifully restored by
Rimblow Buddies $1,500+)
The current steering
wheel is from a 1971
AMX.
Red Stripe kit from OEM
dies (John Newell kit
$1k+)
OEM lighter and dash
panel
(Oil pressure and vacuum
gauges are there now)
Other extras:
Edelbrock R4B Intake
Manifold
Edelbrock chrome valve
covers
Chilton repair manual

Parts list on CD
Rebel Machine signs x2
AMC Keychain
And whatever else I can
find in my garage;-)
