One great way to celebrate a special event is to rent a classic car and take it out for a spin. Whether it is a birthday, anniversary, or wedding, a gorgeous-looking old car will make the occasion more exciting and memorable. You may also want to rent a classic or vintage car on an ordinary day, and go for a road trip with your family or friends, or just by yourself.
There are of course, so many companies that offer car rental services, but most of them do not have classic cars in their fleets. As such, it is not quite so easy to find classic car rentals in any particular town or city.
Some companies though do specialize in this trade; here’s a short list to check out. If they don’t service your area they might be kind enough to connect you with a colleague or two that do.
Here’s a list of some of the top Google results for the term “classic car rental companies”:
- classicautorental.com
- regencycarrentals.com
- specialtycar.net
- blacktopcandys.com
- If you happen to be across the pond, here’s an article from the Telegraph with a list of some vintage car rental companies.
To get more specific in your Google search, try something like “classic car rental company”, followed by the name of your town or city, and you will (hopefully) get some results. Try broadening out the search to your state or province if not.
There are also a few other things you can try – certain people or organizations may be able to help you get your hands on a classic car in your locality.
– If there are classic car associations in your vicinity (check the link for our limited list), you can give them a call and ask them if their members would be interested in renting out their cars for a day or two. If not, some of these enthusiasts may have a lead on where to rent in your area.
– Friends or family members who own classic cars may be willing to let you rent (or even borrow!) their ride.
– Some “exotic” car rental companies may also have antique cars that are available for rent – you can call these companies to inquire.

Hi Maya, we don’t have an official list of classic car rental companies, but I can point you to a couple of places.
First, we wrote a blog post on renting classic cars a while back; you can find it at that link.
Second, I ran a Google search for rent classic cars chicago. The results weren’t that special, but there were definitely some leads to follow! You’ll need to drill into the results from the looks of it and possibly make a few phone calls. If the actual place you phone doesn’t do muscle cars, it’s pretty likely that they’ll be able to give you the name of someone who does.
Hope that helps just a little bit! Hope the party goes well and that it’s not too late!! 🙂
