As a classic cars enthusiast, imagine coming across the most massive collection of classic cars you’ve ever seen in your life. Now, imagine that those classic cars have been abandoned in an old barn. That is precisely what happened in France.
Roger Baillon was once the owner of the massive collection of sixty classic cars, and some of them dated as far back as World War II or before. He had purchased a farm in France and converted a barn into a museum that offered tours. However, Baillon passed away ten years ago, leaving his entire collection to his son, who died last year. Baillon’s grandchildren had no idea the cars even existed, and when they were discovered, they were in for quite a shock.
Among the cars was a 1961 Ferrari 250 GT SWB California Spider, which is valued at almost $14 million US dollars. There were many other pieces of buried treasure in the collection, some of which were hidden under piles of metal or old classic car magazines. The collection was auctioned off in Paris, and it fetched more than $20 million US dollars.
What an incredible discovery and a fascinating news story!
