The Silverstone Classic is one of the biggest classic motorsport events in the world, and it will be held from the 24th to the 26th of July, 2009 at the world famous Silverstone Race Track, the venue of the British Grand Prix. This event features some of the most fascinating classic cars in 90 years of motorsport history, music performances by famous artistes, classic car exhibitions, as well as lots of family fun.

More than 600 classic cars will be competing in over 20 events in this year’s Silverstone Classic. A number of famous personalities from around the world will also be showing their driving skills in several special racing events. Other than the race events, there will also be an impressive exhibition that features some of the finest automobiles from reputable classic car clubs. Those who are going to the Silverstone Classic with their families can have a wonderful time at the Victoria Fun Fair, or shop at the various stalls that offer a wide range of interesting artworks, automobilia, and antiques. Musicians who will be performing at this year’s event include Carlos Santana, Blue, Pussycat Dolls, and Toploader.

One of the most anticipated race events at the Silverstone Classic is the “invitation only” event that features rare GT cars that were made before 1963. The line-up of cars for this event include stunning machines such as the Short-Wheel-Base Ferrari Breadvan, Aston Martin Zagato, Aston Martin Project DP212, and the Stirling Moss-driven Aston Martin ex-Equipe Endeavour DB4GT that took first place at Goodwood in 1960.
