Without a doubt, the Ford Thunderbird is one of the most incredible classic cars out there. Just in case you don’t know much about them, we’d thought we’d put together a little crash course in classic car history that centers on these beautiful cars.
The Ford Thunderbird got its beginnings in 1955, and Ford developed them until the year 2005. The Thunderbird, or T-Bird as it’s often called, set the standard for the personal luxury car in the United States. In the beginning, Thunderbirds were two-seater convertibles, but Ford was hesitant to market them as sports cars. Instead, they called them personal cars, and in 1958, Ford added a second row of seats. Their popularity grew and waned over the years, as Ford downsized their production in 1977, 1980 and in 1983. In 1997, production ceased altogether.
The year 2002 saw a resurgence of the Thunderbird, and it was met with excitement from T-Bird enthusiasts. All in all, Ford produced more than 4 million of these beautiful classic cars.
This year, the Thunderbird celebrates its 6oth Anniversary, and Ford Motor Company is excited to be a part of this celebration. Thunderbird clubs everywhere will hold events to mark this special occasion.

Likewise I fell in love with the TBird. I’ve owned a 1987 LX and now own a 1995 LX which I refuse to part with. I never could afford the 1950’s and 1960’s models. I’ve seen several that I would like to own but.
