The Classic Car Club of America (CCCA) is a club that promotes appreciation of classic cars in the US as well as other parts of the world. Whether you are a classic car owner or just an enthusiast, you will have a lot to gain by becoming a member of the CCCA.
The CCCA was established in the year 1952 with only 20 members. By the end of its first year, the membership of the club had risen to 212. The following year, CCCA published the first volume of its Classic Car magazine and held its first car show, The Grand Classic, at New Jersey’s Washington’s Crossing State Park. In the same year, the club also organized a tour called the CARavan, which traveled half way across the country from the East Coast to the city of Detroit. The CCCA continued to grow in the coming years, and its membership reached 2500 in the year 1960. Today, there are more than 5600 CCCA members around the world.
Other than organizing events and publishing magazines to encourage the collection and appreciation of classic cars, the CCCA also has its own museum. The Gilmore Car Museum, which is situated in Hickory Corners, Michigan, has an impressive collection of 130 antique and classic cars. The cars are displayed in 8 barns that have great historical significance.
Presently, the Classic Car Club of America is regarded as one of the most important classic car clubs in the world. The headquarters of the club is located in Des Plaines, Illinois, but there are many local CCCA divisions in various parts of the world. If you want to join a local CCCA region, you can do so at the club’s official website.
