2022 Land Rover Trailer Depending on who\'s slinging the term, overlanding has taken on a variety of different meanings in recent years. Not to be confused with car camping, four-wheeling, or #vanlife, overlanding is self-sufficient vehicle travel where the journey itself is the goal. At its simplest, overlanding is about exploration. Whether traveling by truck or motorcycle, it is about riding the road less traveled and immersing yourself in the environment and culture. Of course, like the aforementioned car camping, there will be plenty of campsites. There will sometimes be off-road obstacles to navigate, wheeling. And, like van life, you will most likely go through some sort of process of reassessing life\'s priorities, (and perhaps beef up your Instagram feed in the meantime), while overlanding. You and your guide are on the hunt for an elusive and horrifying snipe when night begins to fall. Although tonight is a full moon, cloud cover has taken over and a mist begins to cloud the air. There will be no hunt tonight, but thankfully you took the time to peruse the ever changing inventory of the beloved Classic Auto Mall and found just the ticket to get you through the evening. As you stare off in the distance you recall the words of the infamous writer behind the metal in those wonderful Hallowed Halls...(cue the flashback)... ***Please note, this trailer is titled as a Special Construction, the Pennsylvania Department Of Motor Vehicles does not assign a model year to special construction motor vehicles, trailers, etc. Please research with you local, county, state or provincial motor vehicle bureau to ensure that registering and titling of this trailer is accepted in your area*** And now for something totally different, for consignment, the aft section of a vintage Land Rover pickup now turned trailer and small hauler. With a 3 person tent carried on the roof, adjustable air ride suspension, and a sturdy extreme duty tube frame there is virtually no place you can\'t take this tag along. Gather your gear and don your safari hat, it\'s time to venture into the wild. Exterior Leading the way is a long reaching rectangle tube steel frame with the hitch clamp assembly in the front. This framework vees out to create the rugged frame under the Rover bed and has a small storage tote that houses a 12-volt battery and an onboard air compressor but is still capable of holding your accessories, tools and tie down straps. On top of the tote is a solar charging panel capable of running small appliances and charging your phone or other electronic devices. Factory Land Rover steel makes up the body in a patina riddled light green finish. No rust is apparent, and a custom polished diamond plate bulkhead leads the way. On the back is a flat paneled stainless-steel mesh and diamond plate tailgate and below, a fabricated steel tube bumper provides the backbone for the spare tire holder set up, simple round tail and signal lighting are outboard and looking exactly the part. The bumper frame leads up to the roof mounted canopy cover which houses a Smittybilt 3 person pop up tent. New Falken 205/65R15 tires on white Land Rover steel wheels keep this trailer grounded and give a great utilitarian look. Interior Climbing into the bed we are greeted with 2 milled and stained oak planks that serve as seating over top of the wheel wells. Spare shiny red gasoline cans are also secured here and down below is more milled oak for the flooring. This flooring is slightly raised from the steel underneath and serves to keep your gear dry and secure. Undercarriage A strong tubular steel frame provides the support for the independent adjustable air bag rear suspension. This suspension is capable of hauling a 2000lb load and the hubs and bearings are all Land Rover series/Defender parts so should you need a replacement, things will be a breeze.
