This 2012 Ford Mustang Boss 302 is for those who missed out on the 302R and 302S. There have been big investments to make this a true track-focused machine. But as an added bonus, it\'s still street-legal for those times when you just want to show off this rare and upgraded V8 coupe.
We don\'t have to tell you this is no ordinary pony car. It announces that this is a serious machine from every angle. There\'s the Laguna Seca-style adjustable splitter up front. The sides have black BBS lightweight racing wheels and bright Chicane 23 graphics. And everyone notices the G-Stream adjustable rear wing. Plus, there\'s plenty of exposed carbon fiber style on the trunk, roof, and the lightweight hood with large functional heat extractors. And all these dark pieces look great against the upgraded blue metallic paint. And while you\'re admiring all the functional components, don\'t forget that underneath it all is a quite a rare pony. Inside is a pure race-ready attitude. All the unnecessary weight they could shed was targeted to add lightness and increase speed. The only pieces they added were the kind of components that makes this a better track car, including the custom race cage. The driver now has a Recaro racing seat with HANS compatibility and a full racing harness. The factory gauges are still present, but now they take a backseat to the handy AIM driver information center. And the Sparco quick release racing wheel (power steering) is perfect for the track day. They did leave in the original Boss 302 Recaro passenger seat. It also has a proper harness, so you can take someone along for hot laps.
As the name suggests, this has a 302 cubic-inch (5.0-liter) V8 that\'s a modern fuel-injected DOHC 32-valve setup. It was built for fortified duty right from Ford, and so it\'s great to have the numbers-matching block still in the car. But just like the rest of this coupe, there has been a solid investment in upgrades. It includes a Cobra Jet intake, Cobra Jet cams, 47 lb injectors, C23 custom road race oil pan, JLT oil separators, Ford Racing 65MM Cobra Jet billet throttle body, and a Ford Racing air intake (original Boss intake and throttle body come with the sale.) American Racing Headers feed a growling off road x-pipe dual exhaust to let this hardy powerhouse freely and with a terrific growl. And the six-speed manual transmission put you in full control of it all. The suspension has been thoroughly upgraded, including Boss S camber plates, bump steer kit, adjustable sway bars, and a CorteX Racing watts link rear. You have a four-wheel power disc brake package from Brembo with Boss 302S ABS controller.
