Description:
2005 Pontiac GTO Coupe GTO is about balanced performance, acceleration, handling, steering and braking. What performance starts with, of course, is power, in elevating GTO to the exalted 400 horsepower realm, engineers trimmed this nimble coupe\'s power to weight ratio to less than 9.5 lbs. per hp. That\'s better than every car in GTO\'s class. From the 2005 sales brochure. For consignment, a 2005 Pontiac GTO coupe with a title verified 8,611 actual miles. This is the kind of find you\'ve been looking for; low mileage, garage kept and well maintained and documented. This 3 owner pampered Pontiac is ready for number four! Exterior After some criticism of the 2004 model, Pontiac quickly adapted to comments about the exterior and added twin hood scoops which not only improved the looks, but paid homage to earlier iterations of the GTO. Those wind tunnels are really the only thing that veer from purely aerodynamic on this Quicksilver colored modern muscle car as headlights, fog lights, grille, and taillights all cling closely to the body, resting flush with metal panels. The rear is augmented by a wing, a GTO stamped valance, and the new for 2005 split dual exhaust with chrome tips. Our 17-inch GTO wheels carry 245/45ZR17\'s with a late 2023 date code and sport mirrors blend in with color and shape. Imperfections are few with some scuffs on the rocker panel and nose piece and some chin scrapes. Interior Red Hot is the interior option selected here and it first combines red leather inserts with black plastic and red Alcantara on the door panels and both present in immaculate condition. That leads to the red leather buckets with GTO embroidered in black, also in great shape. In back, supportive rear buckets alternate with black to create one of the sportiest rear compartments you\'ll find, and this one\'s in pristine condition. The steering wheel is sporty enough, but it\'s those red faced dials that really make the cabin pop, emitting all the excitement of a Rolex Datejust. At the center stack, things are monochromatic black in hard plastic with a three dial A/C panel over the AM/FM/CD radio and the center console houses the stout shifter with black leather boot stitched in red for a coordinated design. Red trim encircles the black floor mats over perfect carpet and the molded headliner of this slick top is clean as can be. The trunk is fully finished in gray cloth panels and spotless. Drivetrain Looking showroom fresh is the heavily cladded 6.0 liter LS2 V8, pumping out 400 horsepower and mates to a Tremec T56 6-speed manual transmission. As a respectable muscle car, power is routed to the rear axle with 3.46 gears and a limited slip differential. Undercarriage It shows a touch of use and unfortunately we couldn\'t find any pencil marks, but the underside is otherwise super clean. The dual exhaust system, including the mufflers, is of course all original and power disc brakes are on all four wheels. Independent suspension is employed front and rear and consists of Macpherson struts at the helm and coil springs out back. Drive-Ability No surprise here as this 20 year old car is practically in new condition, so handling is crisp, acceleration is strong, and braking is on point. The car shifts smoothly and tracks straight and the seats are very comfortable. All functions on this fresh GTO operate as they should and it\'s time for this car to take a starring role in the showroom! While Classic Auto Mall represents that these functions were working at the time of our test drive, we cannot guarantee these functions will be working at the time of your purchase. If you\'re like some of us, you wanted one of these when they came out in the mid 2000\'s. You ignored the criticism of Poncho purists who poo-pooed this Holden transplant. It sounded great, looked great, and had a bright future. Well, the owners of this well preserved example felt the same way. So much so, that they tucked it away and protected it, all wh
