LS1 5.7 Liter V8
Mystic Teal Metallic
This is a cool classic that\'s 40 years in the making. The exterior looks like a first-generation 1961 Chevrolet Corvette, but beneath the custom bodywork is a 2001 Corvette convertible. So you get all the iconic design lines, and it\'s now backed by a powerful LS1 V8, modern suspension, and all the modern luxury amenities you could want.
This retro-cool car comes from Classic Reflection Coachworks (CRC). They are long-standing masters at taking a C5 and permanently giving it a whole new attitude. They really took the time to get the details right. The quad headlights, curvy rear fenders, and dual wraparound chrome bumper front and rear. This look is done correctly, right down to the special ducktail rear end that premiered for 1961. You even have the side coves painted white for an awesome two-tone that was a hallmark for the first Generation. And we also really love the Mystic Teal Metallic paint. It\'s a proper GM color borrowed from the more modern palette, but it doesn\'t look out of place on this classic style - and that\'s the theme of the whole car! And the C5 Corvette polished alloys and bright quad exhaust tips have the right amount of modern flair.
While it\'s retro on the outside, the inside is all about modern performance and comfort. The leather bucket seats provide the perfect balance of sports car bolstering and all-day comfort padding. This is especially true since both are power adjustable, so you and your passenger can find the ideal individual position. And dual zone climate control means dialing in your ideal temperature even when the top is down. This has all the best on modern amenities, including power windows, dual airbags, power locks, keyless entry/alarm, and cruise control. There\'s even the convenient windshield head up display (HUD). You\'ll also spot some nice upgrades like an integrated radar detector/jammer, and the stereo has been upgraded to a Pioneer AM/FM/CD/XM touchscreen unit that has Bluetooth and a backup camera. So when something is built for this much comfort, it\'s also nice to know that the custom bodywork still leaves room for ample trunk space. So this head-turner is also a weekend getaway machine.
The later C1s were famous for finally upgrading to V8 power, but the C5 has a ton of muscle in reserve. The LS1 V8 was a true leap ahead for sportscars so it\'s great to have the numbers-matching fuel-injected motor looking so good in this one. You\'ll even notice the special color-matched covers with classic Corvette script. And more than just look good, they have performed the right maintenance, including a new ABS module, belts, ignition switch, and coolant flush all within the last year. So it\'s a strong running motor, and it also proves quite versatile. The four-speed automatic transmission is happy to cruise in overdrive, or a prod of the throttle give it a quick kick down to unleash the 350 horsepower fury. Power steering, four-wheel disc brakes, and a fully independent double-wishbone suspension complete a total package that\'s a fine companion for everything from the backroads to the morning commute.
The sale comes with the owner\'s manual, maintenance records, and even a new top. So when collectability and drivability meet so nicely, you know this will always have desirability. Don\'t miss out, call today!
