Description:1987 Ford Mustang GT Convertible Jack Telnack was a VP of Design at Ford of Europe up from 72 to 76. He and his team focused on aerodynamics to help reduce fuel consumption on Ford\'s European cars as fuel was still much more expensive than in America. He used the wind tunnel to aid in designing some of his vehicles such as the Granada, Rally Escort and the European Capris. His designs had a very European functional design with low front ends, swapping hoods and in some cases slant-back front ends. Several milestones were made with the 79-93 Mustangs such as the resurrection of the Mustang GT, turbo four-cylinder models, (SVO and Turbo GT), and the Cobra and more rare Cobra R models. Not only are the fox Mustangs popular with enthusiasts and racers but they are being considered classics by more and more people. This Fox-stang was the best of the times for generation 3 Mustangs. This particular model has a powerful 5.0 Liter V8 with fuel injection and produces 225hp, the highest of generation 3. This consignment is in good overall condition, is bathed in arrest me red and as the consignor states and I\'ve experienced it, a fun car to drive. ***Due to modifications of the emissions control devices installed by the manufacturer, please check your local, state, and federal laws to determine if this vehicle is applicable for use on public highways in your area.*** Exterior With the new respray of Bright Red over the original Medium Scarlet, we can clearly see the aero work done showing up from the intro. Slightly fogged headlights integrated into the front, a body matching neoprene front bumper/spoiler setup, and a scooped hood add to the menacing look of this GT \'Stag. On the sides some body matching 3D moldings and the hockey stick cove is lowered on the doors to become an inlet vent, (if you will) to help cool the rear brakes. Black window surrounds contrast with the white canvas convertible top which is in good but soiled condition. On the back a 93 Cobra style rear spoiler adorns the trunk lid, and nifty slotted horizontal bar tail lighting with a large neoprene body matching bumper below is seen. When the top is down a style bar is revealed which adds to the look and safety factor and structural integrity of this galloping pony. 18-inch OE Wheel Distributors polished 5 spokes are on all 4 corners, and these have a series of bolts on the rims to add drama. Slightly low profile tires in the form of 245/45R18\'s are on all 4 corners and aft from the 38th week of 2014. Interior Normally this is where I\'d write a pop of the doors, or swinging open the doors we see....BUT this car I can say lowering the convertible top, reveals gray tweed cloth inserts, with light gray vinyl bolsters on the sides of the front buckets. The rear bench is a full tweed broadcloth and is in excellent condition. The driver\'s bucket has some wear through on the outer bolster, shows some slight smudging, and has a few wrinkles in the surrounding outer vinyl on the hinge area. A center console races forward between the buckets and shows also in tones of gray. A small glovebox/armrest is on here as well as the mirror toggles and ash receptacle and lighter, with the ash receptacle slightly rusted. The T style shifter directly influenced from the original 64-1/2 version is seen as the console turns into the dash as it rises upward. Here an aftermarket JVC AM/FM/CD digital radio replaces the original, and just above are the climate knobs. The dash is pristine, with all original square and rectangle instrumentation. Power options abound like power locks, power windows, power mirrors and power lumbar for the seats in front. These seats reside within a sea of nicely preserved gray carpeting. Door panels retain their original charm and are clean with no rust on the lower doors. Don\'t bump your head on entry into the back seat and watch out for that roll bar!. Drivetrain 1987 brought us the 5.0 liter block, heads, intake
