To commemorate the end of the Continental Mark V
production the 1978 Diamond Jubilee Edition was
repackaged for 1979 as the Collector Series. The
collector's series was produced in 4 colors. All were
given the gold colored grill with the gold trimmed hood
ornament. Out of the 6262 collector series edition only
2040 white cars were produced.
Only 4 cars were sent to the Ford dealership in Danville,
Va and I purchased this car for my wife.This is a 2 door
coupe with white exterior and interior blue luxury seats
with fold down center arm rest. Car is 6.6 liter/400 cu
in/engine, AC with auto temperature control. Select shift
auto transmission. 4 wheel power disc brakes, power
windows and steering. Cartier day/time timepiece.
Inflatable spare tire, solid state ignition, coolant recovery
system, remote control L.H. mirror, cornering lights,
premium body style moldings, 4 WSW steel belted
radials, white with white roof vinyl Landau.
Only one owner, garaged kept, all original parts and
paint. Have only replaced the battery. Very low mileage.
Runs well. Perfect condition. Inspected by 2 private
inspectors and only 2 minor flaws-driver seat will not
recline back fully and sometimes windshield wipers will
not turn off. Car has won several trophies in local car
shows. Only selling due to downsizing.
