Rare 1979 Ford F150 Ranger 4x4 XLT \'Flareside\' has a wood bed, a 400m engine, 4 barrel Holley carburetor, Edelbrock intake, manual 4-speed transmission with a granny gear, 33\' tires, and an unknown lift on it. The body is clean with not much rust on it at all. The current owner has seen no rust holes and only a few rust spots anywhere on the body. He replaced the head gasket, heads, water pump, thermostat, and the temperature sending unit in an attempt to fix what he thought was an issue in overheating. He should have just checked that the gage was off! It does not get above 180 and runs strong. This engine has been gone over by a local mechanic who has been in business for a long time. The current owner has new Ford spark plugs for it, he just hasn\'t gotten around to replacing them. He also bought this truck from the original owner and it has low mileage on it. It had factory air but the previous owner had it removed a long time ago. This truck also has new speakers 6.5’ JBLs that sound great and a newly rebuilt rear end done by a shop not a backyard build. The interior seats, headline, dash pad, and carpet were done by the previous owner. They did an excellent job on everything but the carpet. The carpet looks good but he didn’t TAC the corners. This never bothered the current owner enough to TAC down the corners of the carpet. Overall 7/10 interior for the age. The tires are in great shape and there is a full sized spare rim with the old tire that needs to be replaced. The instrument cluster is off. This includes the fuel gauge, temp gauge, and the oil pressure gauge. The current owner has been told that this can be rebuilt but he never saw the need. The only issue he had with it was when it was above 90 outside, the truck would vapor lock. He put heat shielding on the fuel line and put a heat wrap on the fuel pump and that cleared the problem up. He also has a new electronic fuel pump and all the plates and inertia switch to swap to the electric fuel pump.
