Description:
1979 Chevrolet C10 Pickup It started with a simple idea: a few car chassis fitted with hand-built beds to help carry materials around a booming car factory. Before long, millions of Chevrolet pickups were woven into the fabric of a fast-growing country. Chevy trucks tackled the toughest jobs on farms and in the fields; hauled tools and lumber to the burgeoning suburbs; and carried families and friends into and out of the wilds for well-earned vacations. For consignment, a 1979 Chevrolet pickup truck that has been the beneficiary of being restored and hot rodded. A spicy 427ci supercharged big block V8 mill, built Turbo 400 transmission with a performance stall converter, a snappy metallic paint job and a completely new interior. Let\'s just say have a look, and I\'m sure you will be impressed as I was, and definitely had a yearning to look into this truck deeper. Exterior Squarebody Chevrolet trucks from the 70\'s and 80\'s are quite the hot item these days. Any classic truck is for that matter, but truth be told, it\'s the boxy retro look that people are after, and this truck is the epitome of that design. A straight horizontal ribbed grille with its single inset headlights and parking light setup just below, shiny and mirror-like would best describe the bumper residing below. This beautiful setup fronts a steel hood with an added cowl induction scoop and cut out for the 3 red butterfly holding scoop. Straight steel with well minded gaps, all bathed in deep dark metallic blue make up the body of this hauler with the only deviation on the sides being the chrome mirrors, door handles and small bowtie emblem. All glass surrounds front and rear have black trimmings and the drip rails above the doors have been shaved off for a much sleeker look. We note that new seals and a new windshield has been installed. The bed is covered with a black tonneau vinyl bed cover, and underneath is a bed with a sprayed-in liner topped with a rubber mat, much larger than stock wheel tubs, a diamond plate toolbox that holds the fuel cell, and a spare set of extra wide wheels and tires. You will have to inspect closely on this truck to find any real faults as a really nice job on the restoration has been performed. Polished and drilled 15-inch Eagle Alloy wheels are on all 4 corners and are wrapped in 235/70 rubber in the front and wide 275/60 meats in the rear. Interior The wonderful restoration continues with the nicely padded plastic and vinyl door panels. Smooth plastic in gray with shiny door releases front these panels with padded gray door pulls and clean gray carpeting finishing off the bottom. Chrome bezels are on for the power window and lock toggles which reside within a brushed aluminum insert. Slipping inside, high back bucket seats welcome us and other passengers with a small gray plastic console in the center. These buckets are covered in a gray vinyl with a nice tuck and roll pattern on both the upper and lower cushions. The original gray dash with a wood burl bezel holds the factory supplied gauges and an aluminum switch panel has been added for various other controls. Mounted within the dash we also see an AM/FM/CD stereo as well as an AutoMeter tachometer and 4 separate gauges below. Gray padding finishes the top of the dash while more wood burl in front of the passenger provides the perfect contrast. Gray carpeting floods the floors and on the hump is a B&M shifter in a small console. Above is a gray felted headliner hanging tightly and proud. Drivetrain Under the hood is simply put eye candy in the form of a consignor-stated 427ci big block V8. This mill sports Edelbrock aluminum heads and is fed by dual Edelbrock 4bbl carburetors via a Weiand 6-71 supercharger and BDS lower intake manifold. This all works together to create some seriously boosted ponies. A TH400 3-speed automatic transmission with a 4000pm stall converter and a reverse manual valve body is on back along with a 12-bolt Posit
