Description:1976 Chevrolet Corvette Coupe Corvette is America\'s only true production sports car.. Thus starts Chevrolet\'s sales brochure for the \'76-model Corvette, and this statement was certainly as true as it had-or has-ever been. The domestic car industry was under pressure on all fronts. Stiffer safety and emissions regulations were coming from the government on a regular basis. Public desire for better fuel mileage (thanks to the Arab oil embargo of 1973 and \'74) brought competition from overseas, and prompted domestic manufacturers to put most of their development efforts into their own fuel-efficient cars. The great muscle cars of the late \'60s and early \'70s were indeed shadows of their former selves. This would be the last year since its 1968 inception where a C3 generation car would have had the Stingray moniker on its body. Maintaining the classic Stingray shape, although much smoother styling with its undulating hood, flying buttress B pillars and a rounded but later model rear, this consignment presents itself in beautiful Silver Metallic respray. A numbers matching drivetrain, silver is the new gold standard to this Stingray. ***Due to modifications of the emissions control devices installed by the manufacturer, please check your local, state, and federal laws to determine if this vehicle is applicable for use on public highways in your area.*** Exterior Deep silver paint drapes the undulating totally rounded over design of this car. In contrast, most cars of this era were planted firmly into the square and rectangle design, however this leftover survivor of the muscle car era, is having none of that! Brite work is minimal but in good condition and shows up on the door handles, front glass frame, side view mirrors, and rockers. The remainder of the car is silver painted neoprene for the chromeless bumpers, and fiberglass body. Headlights flip up and down when the knob is pulled. A rear deck is accentuated by the flying buttress B pillars framing a vertical small rear window. This transitions to the back bumper of the car which has been modified so that the round taillights are inset deeper and a spoiler is above in this molding clueing us in that the rear fascia is from a 1980-82 \'Vette. 15-inch dish rally wheels are wrapped by raised white letter Cooper Cobra Radial G/T\'s 225/70R15\'s from the 30th week of 2019, so fairly new rubber all around. Interior Smoke gray leather buckets are showing some slight folds as nicely aged leather tends to do. These high backs have a sleek design and present mainly flat in design compared to today\'s seats that are like NASCAR racing seats! The door panels are showing in smoke grey as well, have a sporty wood appliqué panel in their uppers. The center console has a nicely padded leather armrest and hand brake lever, and this drives the eye forward to the shifter lever and temp wheels. Just above 5 round smaller gauges grab the driver\'s attention along with some warning lights flanking these gauges. The deep set gauges in the dash are original, and are mounted within a light gray dash front with a darker stitched padded dash top. A wood rimmed rally steering fronts this light colored dash. Clean badged floor mats cover the carpeting. In back is a fairly extensive carpeted area for more storage and where the battery is housed. Drivetrain A lift forward of the stinger hood, and we see the numbers matching 350ci V8 in L48 form. It sports the factory heads and presents with an orange/red GM block and chromed valve coverings and chromed air cleaner covering. A single 4-barrel carburetor feeds this 350 and on back is a TH350 3-speed automatic tranny. The rear axle is a 3.08 Positraction. For the exhale is a single pipe with dual exits. Undercarriage A rust free, (if seen- surface rust only!), underside that has power disc brakes all around, and fully independent suspension on all 4 corners. Nicely preserved underneath but we note the absenc
