Description:1974 Volkswagen Super Beetle A Super Beetle offers a large, curved windshield and plenty of room for the long legs in your family to stretch out and be comfortable. But so do a lot of big cars. But while everyone has been thinking how to make their big cars smaller, (and then bigger again), we\'ve been thinking how to make ours better. So this year we\'ve put on new energy absorbing bumpers. We\'ve redesigned the seats for greater comfort. And equipped every Super Beetle with our new VW Owner\'s Security Blanket with Computer Analysis. A very snug blanket indeed. From the Super Beetle insert for the 1974 dealer\'s brochure. For consignment, a 1974 Volkswagen Super Beetle showing 51,196 non actual miles. A frame off restoration on this car was completed in mid 2024 and the engine was rebuilt by Gene Ulrich, (Reading, PA), with new crank, pistons, rods, heads and carburetor. The build sheet for the engine along with receipts for the work will come with the car. Exterior Nothing unusual about the Medium Blue Metallic except the fact it is accompanied by blacked out trim, much of which has been powder coated, giving the Beetle a strikingly unique appearance. There\'s quite an attention to detail here as even the LED headlight, smoked tail lights, emblems, and bumpers are all darkened and carried by the 15-inch custom Minilite style wheels that wear a subtle blue stripe around the edge. From the side, you can see the telltale curved windshield and the iconic amber marking lights perches on the front fenders. The back is a feast for the eyes with rows of louvers both as intake under the rear window and heat extraction on the decklid, a rounded rear bumper, and two exhaust pipes leaving through a contoured rear valance. A scuff and perhaps an area of thin paint are the only two imperfections we find, and it wasn\'t easy as the remainder is in excellent condition. Interior Darth Vadar\'s dream Beetle continues on the inside where smooth, black vinyl door cards look pristine with horizontal stitch, map pocket, and traditional VW window and door hardware. The newer front bucket seats are hefty and black, and the back bench has been recovered, continuing our journey through this clean interior. The leather wrapped steering wheel is sporty and leads to the typically simple dash afforded Beetles with a large speedometer in the driver\'s sightline along with some toggles and indicator lights. An AM/FM/Cassette radio lives in the center while an Empi logo T-shifter rises from a center console that includes a cupholder, all over new gray carpet which is a nice offset to the black, along with the white perforated headliner above showing some slight wrinkles in places but fully intact. The frunk is also lined in gray carpet and presents cleanly. Drivetrain Behind the rear hatch, the 1600cc flat 4 cylinder engine, rebuilt as noted with new internals and rated at 60 horsepower. There are two new Weber 40 IDF 2-barrel carburetors on board this very clean engine and it\'s mated to a rebuilt 4-speed manual transmission that keeps power to the rear wheels and 3.875 gears. Drum brakes provide stopping power on all four wheels. Once again, visually the engine is spotless and show worthy. Undercarriage This Super Beetle is super clean underneath with a satin black belly pan, clean knuckles, and fresh CV boots, all gleaming with a soil free glow. No surface rust nor errant fluids are observed. Dual exhaust leaves from each side of the engine and enter into a stock style muffler before leaving for external exposure via chrome tips. Suspension is composed of Macpherson struts in front and independent suspension out back. Drive-Ability The Beetle\'s unique shape and upright ergonomics are enhanced by the slight super sizing of the special model and it\'s a ride that is many things, but boring is not one of them! We crank the car to life and it makes that unique VW exhaust note that has been thrilling V-Dub f
