*1972 Chevrolet C10 Custom*In the 2000s when American Muscle Car values shot through the roof, many hot rodders and customizers could no longer justify altering these collector cars. It was at this time that the rise in popularity for modifying trucks really began to take hold and in recent years, the classic truck market has risen to show the widespread appreciation for the vehicles. Providing a perfect blend of classic style with usability that isn\'t available in coupes or sedans, people have come to appreciate trucks as a classic that you can still use- and the Chevrolet C10 is at the top of everyone\'s list. This 1972 example is the perfect definition of a do anything classic, equally at home running errands or heading to your local car show. Benefiting from a complete frame off restoration by the previous owner, this C10 has been thoroughly sorted and every element is improved over the standard truck but with subtle enough style choices to give it a real stock-plus vibe.Watch a Walkaround Video Here...The restoration began with a repaint in the fantastic shade of Butternut Yellow with a matching bed exterior-this was a color found on an earlier bodystyle of the C10 and looks outstanding applied here. Many C10s of this generation came from the factory with a white painted roof and that has been duplicated on this truck and adds some great visual contrast to the rest of the yellow body. Prior to putting the paint down, the rear fender wells were widened to accept larger tires and a cowl induction hood was added to fit a larger motor in the engine bay. The motor that was chosen was a 454ci crate engine that was modified with an Edelbrock intake manifold, Headman headers and full Flowmaster exhaust with dual bumper outlets. This engine is backed up by a TCI Turbo 350 Automatic Transmission and sends power to a 12-Bolt rear end with posi-traction. All of these elements add up to a truck that is super fun to drive, has plenty of power to get out of its own way and sounds fantastic, even idling around.During this restoration, the chassis was also upgraded with new, lower springs and both front and rear anti-roll bars. Power steering has been added for easier maneuvering and front disc brakes help slow the truck down. On the inside, the seats have been trimmed in an excellent black and white houndstooth which is reminiscent of 1960s Camaros and a three-spoke Corvette style steering wheel on a tilt column has also been added. Additionally, the truck has Vintage Air to keep the passengers comfortable on the hottest summer days and the cabin has been covered in Dynamat to help keep the heat and noise down. During the restoration, all of the chrome was replated and looks outstanding. The wheels were also upgraded with a set of Vision Torque Series wheels with gunmetal centers and polished lips. Sporting 18 wheels in front and 20 in the back, the truck has a fantastic stance and handles exceptionally well thanks to the modern rubber on them. Clearly a very well thought through build, this C10 represents a truck that can give you all the vintage feel you would hope for with the reliability of a modern crate engine and the conveniences of air conditioning and power steering.
