Description:1969 Dodge Dart Hardtop The Dart name originally appeared on a 1957 show car featuring a body designed by the Italian coachbuilder Carrozzeria Ghia. The production Dart was introduced as a lower-priced, shorter wheelbase, full-size Dodge in 1960 and 1961, became a mid-size car for 1962, and finally was a compact from 1963 to 1976. This custom 2-door hardtop coupe now for consignment had a previous life on the drag strip racing NHRA Pro and Super Pro brackets until 1989 where our consignors found it engine and transmission less. The beneficiary of a 10 year restoration, this sweet mini muscle street legal car is in near perfect condition. Dollar for dollar, this is the most fun you can have for your buck, and it is right here at Classic Auto Mall. Take a close look at the photos, and you will see exactly what I\'m talking about. Exterior What is a respray of red covers the exterior of this car. It works in unison with newly chromed trimmings and bumpers. It has a cut out in the hood for the tunnel ram to be shown through its midsection. Factory tinted glass is on, the grille has been restored to original, and lines are straight as arrows. The original hood comes with the car as well, but will require a shipping expense from our consignor\'s house to you. On a slightly jacked back suspension we see a black wrap around stripe with a Swinger cut out that also sports DART on its top. Angled tail lighting is on the back just above another perfectly shiny rear bumper. Wheels are 14 and 15-inch respectively aluminum slots and are wrapped with 225/70R14\'s in front and 275/60R15\'s on back. Badging is all beautiful, as are handles and remaining brite work. An unscathed red metal top is present. Looking into the trunk you will be able to view the invasive rust free trunk floor along with a selection of exterior trim and the relocated battery. Interior Gone is the drag interior now replaced by OEM benches in black vinyl with some textured faux tuck and roll inserts and smooth bolsters. The rear bench matches is also new and is pristine. The dash is new and looks fab, and instrumentation is all very clean and factory looking. On top of the dash a tachometer and shift light sits proudly harkening back to this car\'s racing past. The door panels are like new and the driver\'s door shows slight waves in the mid panel near the hinge. Black carpeting is new, and above and a black headliner is also new and included is a box with gaskets for glass awaiting its installation. We also note the mechanical fuel pressure gauge sitting just outside the windshield in clear view of the driver. Drivetrain Under the hood is an orange painted block with chrome valve coverings and it is topped with a cast scoop. The mill is very healthy indeed with its circa 1973 340 cubes. It has an Edelbrock TR5 tunnel ram intake and dual Edelbrock 500cfm 4bbl carbs. The heads and block have been milled down to achieve 10.0-1 compression with the new Keith black pistons. Also of note are the balanced Lenate rods and steel crankshaft as well as a camshaft by Comp Cams. There is an rebuild 500 mile ago ATI A727 Torqueflite 3 speed automatic transmission with a 3800rpm stall converter and a standard valve body. On back there is an 8-3/4 inch rear axle with 3.55 gears, SureGrip and Summer\'s Brothers axles. Hooker silver ceramic coated headers and a 2-1/2 inch Walker muffler system is now installed. This all harkens back to its drag racing days but now totally street legal and lots of fun! Undercarriage Not unlike the topside, some major work has been performed here as well. Including the rear wells being widened to accommodate the wider tires, A new fuel tank with a 1/2 inch pickup is in back, and the battery has been moved to the rear trunk and has a shutoff. All new suspension bushings are in and all new drum brakes front to back with new lines, shoes, wheel cylinders and a new master cylinder have been installed. Super Sto
