Description:There\'s something to be said for vehicles that have had careful, conscientious owners that spent serious time and money to preserve the classics we all know and love. Take this gorgeous 1972 Chevrolet C10 Stepside pickup, for example. It is believed to have been formerly owned by Rick Hendrick – a businessman that knows a thing or two about cars – and painstakingly frame-off restored to its impressive factory specs. It has been carefully owned and loved since its comprehensive build was completed, and as a result, the 350 cubic inch V8 purrs like new, and the truck drives like it should (if not better), a relatively rare phenomenon in the world of vintage pickups. If you\'re looking for a well-optioned truck that looks, feels, and drives like it\'s still 1969, you won\'t find much better than this beauty.
Somehow, Light Blue paint looks right on the squared-off shape of the C10. In particular, the gorgeous Action Line C10s – arguably the greatest line of classic trucks ever built. Not only meant just for tailfins and chrome, but this pickup also wears this pastel paint proudly and still looks rugged thanks to Chevy\'s utilitarian shape. A white top also helps off-setting the pale blue color with a striking contrast that practically defined the era. It has been taken down to bare bones and fully repainted, of course, and the restoration still looks fantastic today, having been completed to such a high standard just a handful of a few years ago. Tight gaps, laser-straight bodywork, and no modifications from stock mean this truck recalls a bygone era much better than most, particularly with its outstanding mechanicals. Sure, it\'s no longer some bonafide national show winner, and despite its extensive restoration, it was never meant for that life anyway. Still, any minor signs of use and age are particularly difficult to spot with the naked eye – this truck is simply that clean. The step-side bed was finished to match the quality of the rest of the build, featuring meticulously painted side walls, stainless-steel hardware, and a wooden bed held down with chrome slats that look more like a dance floor than a regularly used tool. Bright chrome bumpers fore and aft, the classic egg-crate grille up front, and the miscellaneous brightwork throughout the truck shines beautifully and highlights this pickup\'s best features. At the same time, all the original badging was correctly reinstalled in all the right places.
The interior was treated to the same comprehensive makeover as the exterior, starting with beautifully stitched CST deluxe seat covers stretched taut over the bucket seats that look authentic with their Western Scroll accents adorning the inserts. Dark Blue contrasts nicely with the bright blue paint, and it\'s evident that every soft part inside was replaced during the restoration, and every bit of steel was repainted to match the exterior. The matching door panels, headliner, and center console look practically brand new, and the blue carpets are a nice upgrade that most trucks of the period didn\'t get. The factory gauges are in excellent condition inside the original-style bezel. They include a rare factory tachometer at the center and stock auxiliary gauges on the bottom row that all help monitor the engine\'s vitals. According to the owner, this truck was originally ordered with almost every conceivable option in \'69. Although that originality claim can be difficult to 100% prove (it does come with a glove box RPO sticker, although it\'s a reproduction), we can happily say that today it\'s loaded – power steering/brakes, tilt wheel, cruise control, seatbelts, AM/FM radio, and factory A/C that blows nice and cold inside the tightly sealed cab. The original 1969-era steering wheel was restored and still anchors the interior atop a tilt column that provides ample room for drivers of all sizes, joined by a very convenient column shifter that manages the automatic transmission below.
