Description:
A once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to own an authentic piece of automotive history! This 1969 AMC AMX, the rarest of all muscle cars, was fully restored by Chip Foose and his award-winning Overhaulin' team in 2014 for my daughter, Sophia, in episode 4 of season 8. I've enjoyed this rare classic beauty for nearly 50 years! It's the only American Motors vehicle ever restored by Foose - truly one of one! This rare two-seater muscle car, with matching numbers, underwent a complete, meticulous, ground-up restoration with a fully rebuilt high-performance V-8 engine increased from 390 cubic inches to over 400 cubic inches, now putting out more than 400 HP, and an optimized 3-speed automatic transmission. The suspension is now state-of-the-art, along with a Baer disc braking system, and much more. Every body line, panel fit, and detail, refined to perfection, now all of those factory production-line gaps are hand-in-glove and flawless, reminiscent of a hand-crafted European sports car. It's as if it just rolled off the “special” production line onto the showroom floor, with its striking blue metallic paint, broad pin-striping, impeccable interior craftsmanship, detailed by the Foose team, and a fantastic sound system. The Overhaulin' team reset the odometer to zero during the build, and today shows fewer than 400 miles since completion. Its new home is a dust-free, climate-controlled facility. The AMX was so rare that AMC installed a dashboard emblem plaque indicating each vehicle's production line number, sequentially numbered from 1968 to 1970. This vehicle is number 13530 in the AMX series. This particular vehicle is the newest, most exclusive AMX on the planet, and redefines perfection!
