Description:1966 Chevrolet Corvette Coupe Flight 427, now departing through gates 1, 2, 3 and 4. Pardon the word play, but Flight 427 is our way of informing you that Corvette can now be ordered with a 427 cubic inch Turbo Jet V8. We threw in a bit about the gates just to let you know our fully synchronized 4-speed is a must with this rig. Excerpted from one of many clever print ads Chevrolet published for the 1966 Corvette. For consignment, a 1966 Chevrolet Corvette coupe with a title verified 61,812 actual miles. Of the 27,720 Corvettes produced in 1966, just 2,054 of them were Laguna Blue and convertibles outnumbered hardtop about two to one. This example has a date correct engine and numbers matching transmission. Exterior Take a dive into the deep, two stage Laguna Blue Metallic that coats this car as it shimmers off of every epic angle and curves the designers carefully sculpted out of fiberglass. The flexibility of the material has done wonders here, creating one of the most iconic shapes in the automotive world, and one that\'s been artfully photographed countless times. The curved rear window becomes an integral part of the boat tail which gives way to flat plains of a rear deck between pointed rear fenders. A cross flag emblem graces the stinger up front which draws back to become a streamlined hood bulge. Let\'s not forget about the side gills, side pipes, and 15-inch knock off wheels with yellow line tires. Overall, the body and paint are good on the car, but our intrepid photographer takes a closer look. Imperfections include areas of crazing, inclusions, chips, scratches, scuffs, hairline cracks, edge chips, areas of bubbling, orange peel, cracked fiberglass on a valance, and a linear mar on the character line. While most of these marks are small, there are many and found throughout the car. Please refer to photos. Interior Blue on blue makes for an attractive combo and the clean door panels greet you with a flash of brightness, leading to the blue leather bucket seats inside which show some wear, especially on the driver\'s side where creases are evident. The 3 spoke steering wheel fronts the instrument cluster under the left cove and textured plastic trim plate, all of which is in very nice shape. Similar conditions are found between the coves where the blue painted panel houses a clock, metal knobs, and a vertically mounted AM/FM radio. An aluminum trim plate tops the center console, home to the chrome knobbed shifter and there is some light wear on the horizontal surfaces and seat belt buckles. Blue looped carpet is below and covers the rear cargo area nicely while the blue vinyl headliner above is in fantastic condition. Drivetrain Under the hood is a clean 427ci V8 and while the build date of the car was 9/28/65 according to the trim tag, the stamp date on the engine is 10/22/65. It has a 4-barrel carburetor and a numbers matching Muncie M20 4-speed manual transmission routing power to the rear axle with 3.36 gears and a stamping code of 9/2/65. The motor shines bright with Chevy Orange paint and clean components, including the power brake booster. Undercarriage Surface rust and contrasting clean components occupy the overall nice underside where dual exhaust leads to chambered side pipes. Power disc brakes occupy all four wheels and suspension consists of coil springs up front and transverse strut rods, torque control arms, and a transverse leaf spring makes up suspension in the back. Drive-Ability We\'ll take it slow with this American legend as we\'re on 33 year old tires. That said, the engine runs and sounds excellent, shifts are crisp, and there\'s obvious power underfoot. We note the left front turn signal is not working and both the right front and back turn signals blink faster than normal. Beyond that, all systems function as intended! While Classic Auto Mall represents that these functions were working at the time of our test drive, we cannot guarantee these functions will be working
