Description:Cars like this just don\'t seem to exist anymore. You\'re not just looking at a 1965 Ford Mustang Fastback. It\'s also a Motion Performance dragstrip build. While Motion has earned a gold standard reputation for GM muscle, the Hugger Mugger actually earned its name for taking out plenty of Hugger Camaros on the track. It\'s all part of the fun and wild times of the later 1960s when every weekend the right people were looking to be crowned the new quarter-mile king. And it\'s this competition-fueled era that means most cars were used up and discarded. So it\'s impressive to find the original looking so good. The heart of this attraction is a barn find story and a proper restoration. Fred Reimer purchased this fastback brand new in 1965. He campaigned it with his friend Fred Greco into the 1970s. The car was retired from racing and Reimer eventually put it into storage for decades. Greco resurrected the car with an eye for returning it to its as-raced condition. That was somewhat easy because many of the body and chassis originals were still in place. And the restored pieces were done with absolute care. In fact, when the Mustang was repainted, Greco had the original artist paint the graphics back on the coupe. So as you look through the full details, you can feel an impressive authenticity where a unique pony car was enthusiast-built and a passion project restoration. HIGHLIGHTS *Rare Motion Performance upgraded Mustang *Under the ownership of the original racers from 1965 to 2019 *Exceptional restoration with an eye for authenticity *Classic racer details --Original artist repainted body graphics and sponsors --Big tire rear --Motion Performance column tach --Stewart Warner gauges --Hurst Super Shifter *302 cubic-inch V8 bored and stroked to a 336ci *Long tube headers feeding X-pipe and glasspack resonators *Four-speed manual transmission *Ford 9-inch rear with 4.30 Detroit Locker *Front disc brakes *Rear traction bars *Impressive paperwork --Copy of original bill of sale --Copy of original window sticker --Copy of Dealer invoice --Original warranty card --Historical photos graphs --Magazine features *Museum quality build with a strong-running heart What\'s impressive about this car is that we haven\'t even mentioned that it\'s a first-year fastback with a K-code VIN. The motor designation alone put this in the top one percent of original Mustangs, and everyone loves the first 2+2. But production rarity is no match for true singularity. After all, Motion Performance is a legendary name in GM circles, and so you\'ll likely never find another Mustang touched (and sponsored!) by them. And the Hugger Mugger Mustang is one of the few track cars that survived its era. This is quite a unique offering that will require a few extra show boards to tell its full story at the car shows. You\'re likely not the only one who understands how rare an opportunity this is, so if you\'re ready to be a part of the Hugger Mugger\'s history, you need to hurry up and call today!
