Description:By the mid-1960s, Volkswagen had firmly established itself as the first import to make a dent in the United States, starting with the first two sold in 1949. This very solid beetle has had the same loving owner for the past 20 years. Just this year the owner sent the car to Midwest Air-cooled & machine and spent $12,322 on rebuilding the brake system with upgraded master cylinder (1,980). Rebuilt the motor, installed new starter, clutch & cable clutch. New throttle cable, replaced oil pump, all fuel lines, engine stripped down and rebuilt 1600 long block installed. Axle gears replaced, gaskets and O-rings. Just to name a few. Receipt in hand for work performed. Made in August 1963 at VW\'s Wolfsburg, West Germany factory, this car is dressed in Panama Beige (code 19), the car\'s paint and trim are in very good order. The bug\'s bodywork is straight and solid, with Hella headlights. The engine bay is very tidy and the chrome bumpers fit tightly to the body. The car has a sunroof, too. This Bug rolls on Nexen SB 802 radials, size 165/80R15. Each one is mounted on a body-colored rim topped with chrome moon wheel covers. The wheels and tires are all in very good order. Out back is a rebuilt 1.6L air-cooled, flat four-cylinder engine. Backing the motor is a four-speed manual transmission. Inside, the Mesh Brown leatherette (code 84) front seats and rear bench seat look great. The corresponding carpet and headliner are in similar condition. The ivory, two-spoke steering wheel looks great, as do the dashboard with VDO gauges and inner door panels. The car has a floor-mounted shifter and AM radio. Nineteen sixty-four Beetle models could be identified by a widened light housing on the engine lid over the rear license plate, however the standard model continued to use the old teardrop style to the end of the 1965 model run. Competition to the Beetle in 1964 was Chevrolet\'s Corvair. If you\'re a Volkswagen fan or collector, you should visit MotoeXotica Classic Cars to check out this \'64 VW Beetle. We all know that the financial times right now are tough. With the stock market being so volatile and investments becoming less valuable, many people are turning to the classic car market to invest their money. Putting your money into a hard asset that you can enjoy everyday is becoming a very popular option, especially now when the marketplace is lower then it’s been in many years. We invite you to put your money into a vehicle that is fun to own and brings back memories of when you were younger.
With the increase in turnover has come the increased need of fine automobiles. We are constantly looking for exceptional cars and travel the country coast to coast in search of the rare and unusual. We find our cars through individuals like yourselves as well as classic car and dealer auctions. We do not purchase vehicles that we would not be proud to own ourselves.
