I bought this Nova SS about five years ago. This rebuild was started about year 2000 by the previous owner. He was 3 years into it when he fell sick and died. The car was by then nearly road ready. The family held onto it for 13 years and decided to sell ( to me ) for college funds for the son. They car is an excellent build. Builder used many excellent condition used parts and ( I assume ) new parts as needed. The engine comes from a vehicle of 1975. Garage kept at all times. When I bought this ,I took it to professional mechanics for help with fuel and ignition systems, transmission service and inspection, rear leaf springs, and finally refinishing the interior ( paint ). Nova is now road ready and show worthy. It is garage kept and never driven in bad weather. Has clear title. I do not have knowledge of any accidents. I have to assume this Nova is not a numbers matching car. The original engine would have been a 194c.i.d. " High thrift ". Transmission is most likely the correct unit. While this car may be considered a clone...It is the correct set-up for this model year. As far as I can tell; the v.i.n. info indicates a true SS model. 1963 Nova SS was only a trim package at the time.
