Determining the real 409 4 speed convertible that it is: - the VIN shows it to be a V8 car as it should be on a 409 - the fuel lines run below the passenger side upper control arm, like they should in a 409 and exit just next to the fuel pump - The block carries the correct QB designation for a Hi-Po 425 horse 409 on the pad. - The block casting number is for 1963 409 passenger car engines only - The resistor is on the firewall, again something specific to 409 cars - It is a 4 speed, which was the only option for hi power 409 engines - It does have a 4 fan shroud, and the fan sticks out of it by about an inch, another indicator that it\'s a true 409 - The interior code on the cowl tag is 815 for black bucket seats, only available on Super Sport trim - All the hard to find call-outs are present and in the right location - It has the tachometer on the column, and all the interior and exterior trim has the distinctive machine turned finish. -The trim tag shows it\'s a true red on black car. -It also comes with the original pouch with the Owner\'s Guide and Owner\'s Protection Plan that are all in very good shape. -Included is the original 1963 brochure for Impalas, a nice add. From the website 348-409.com Block# 3830814 Year used: 1963 Model: Passenger car Engine: 409 Horsepower: 340,400,425 Bore: 4.3125 Stroke: 3.50 Main Journal: 2.50 Rod Journal: 2.20 Notes: This block was used for all 409 applications in 1963. About This Dealership:
Fleming's Ultimate Garage is a group of enthusiasts with over 20 years of experience in selling some of the finest classic, sports and exotic cars in the country. Our staff does not work here because they need to; they work here because of their passion for fine automobiles. You can imagine the excitement of our typical day deciding which car to take out for a drive; whether it be a '66 GTO with a tripower and a 4 speed setup, a classic Austin-Healy 3000 wailing out of the dual exhaust or today's modern Porsche 911 with that familiar flat 6 cylinder whine and a 6 speed transmission.
Whatever your choice, you can be assured we have painstakingly gone through each car in order to ensure safety, reliability and great looks. Because we have ensured that each car in our beautiful waterfront showroom is a quality vehicle, our customers can turn the key, smile, and drive off in the car of their dreams. Perhaps you too will become one of our many clients that trade in the car they buy here every year and get something new. With the majority of the depreciation out of the newer cars we sell, the classic cars continuing to go up in value and the fact that we would love to have our own cars back when something else catches your eye, you can see why it costs so little to own one.
Enough said, browse the site or call us to get the most up to date inventory listings. You can also go to our locator page where you can sign up to be the first to be notified when the car of your dreams shows up in our showroom.
