272 CI V8
When you think of the 1950s on wheels, this is the car that comes to mind. Elegant, rare, and quite period-correct, this 1955 Ford Fairlane Crown Victoria can be your new crown jewel.
This Crown Vic knows how to make a scene the moment it arrives. According to the trim tag, the two-tone Raven Black and Coral Mist is the factory-correct color combination. And the black and pink style reminds us of poodle skirts and horn-rimmed glasses. It\'s the right kind of finish for a cruiser, which means you won\'t be shy about driving it and it looks good at the stoplights. Fords of this era were truly distinctive with their sweeping chrome trim that runs from the headlight all the way back to the tail. And it\'s the perfect way to separate the two-tone combination. It\'s easy to distinguish the Crown Victorias as the range-topping end of the already premium Ford Fairlanes because only these have the encompassing brightwork that visually separates the front and rear passenger compartments. And since the Fairlane Crown Victoria made up only about five percent of the total 1955 Fairlane production, it\'s nice to have one looking so complete. And because this is going for the best in 1950s premium, you also have all the right custom touches like fender skirts, a spotlight, bumper overriders, and whitewall tires. The Continental kit also reminds you that this is so vintage that it will get you Lost in the \'50s.
The black is continued inside, and now it\'s joined by a distinct white to deliver a tiles color combo that is also factory-correct. The upholstery was refreshed, the carpeting looks good, and you have nice details like newer door sills to make this classic inviting. The front seats have a great pattern, and they have a more individualized style than the standard bench. In the highest echelon of Ford coupes, even the rear seats got the same individual style treatment. But our favorite style element is how the door panels have a similar swoopy design to emulate the exterior trim. It even wraps into the dashboard in a continuous sweep. Everything feels like a time machine back to the \'50s once you slip behind the wheel, including the plexiglass speedometer. But more than just a time capsule style, this also has the right well-paced additions for today\'s driving. The AM/FM stereo with Bluetooth fits in the vintage AM radio\'s housing, and the auxiliary gauge trio lets you keep an eye on what\'s going on under the hood.
The V8 badging on the front fender is no accident. Pop the hood, and you\'ll find a 272 cubic-inch Ford Y-block V8 motor. It\'s a period-correct block dressed up for some period-correct fun with the Thunderbird valve covers. You can also tell there have been the right investments to keep this a proper driver, like the large aluminum radiator. It makes for a classic that fires up easily and runs smoothly. The V8 is mated to the optional automatic transmission, and the smooth ride makes this Crown Vic one of the coolest ways to aimlessly wander the boulevard on a Saturday night.
We like what this custom Ford represents. You may give it more polish, upgrade the brakes, add some A/C, or other details that we often do to classics we love to drive. But that\'s just what happens down the road. Because this Fairlane Crown Victoria already knows how to be impressive with its two-tone true cruiser style from day one. Call now!
