Interior Color:Two-tone black-and-white
Exterior Color:Three-tone exterior – Sapphire White (code 555) roof over Heather Rose (code 550) w/ a Jewel Black (code 501)
Description:Tucked under the Custom Royal Lancer nameplate in Dodge\'s lineup, the Royal Lancer was above the Lancer and the La Femme trims. Virgil Exner was hired to restyle the cars for the middle part of the decade and they make a viable alternative to General Motors\' Tri-Five lineup. Made in Chrysler\'s Hamtramck Assembly in Hamtramck, Michigan, this Dodge is finished in one of Exner\'s exotic three-tone color schemes – a Sapphire White (code 555) roof over Heather Rose (code 550) doors and fenders with a Jewel Black hood, beltline and trunk (code 501). The combination is unique and eye-catching. It was originally purchased at Fred Skaluba Dodge-Plymouth in Scranton, Pennsylvania. The car\'s bodywork is straight and solid, the chrome bumpers fit tightly to the body, the engine bay is very tidy and the cargo area is clean. It has gone under a cosmetic restoration and looks fantastic throughout. This Dodge rolls on Universal bias-ply tires, size 7.10-15 at every corner, with each tire mounted to a wire wheel cover. The wheels are in satisfactory order while the tires are in good, original condition. Under the hood is a 270 CID Red Ram V-8 engine (code D553). Bore was 3.625 inches and stroke was 3.25 inches. In higher trims like the Dodge Royal, the Super Red Ram ran the same compression ratio but with a four-barrel carburetor. Backing the motor is a Powerflite two-speed automatic transmission and a 3.73:1 rear end. Driver convenience feature includes power steering. Inside, the seats are upholstered in a unique black Jacquard with ivory Cordagrain trim and silver thread. The black carpet is in very good order while the white headliner mirrors the condition of the seats. A two-spoke steering wheel faces the driver while the dashboard with the Flite Control Lever for the transmission and inner door panels look great. A factory AM radio completes the interior. The introduction of the Dodge Custom Royal for the 1955 model year saw the Royal moved down to the intermediate trim level, above the now base-model Coronet. The Royal Lancer name was applied to the two-door hardtop model and Royal Sierra to the new station wagon models. Documentation includes the original owner\'s manual and an original 1955 Dodge sales brochure. If you\'re searched and searched for a Tri-Five from General Motors with no luck and the mid-50s Fords and Mercurys aren\'t to your taste, consider this 1955 Dodge Royal Lancer coupe at MotoeXotica. We all know that the financial times right now are tough. With the stock market being so volatile and investments becoming less valuable, many people are turning to the classic car market to invest their money. Putting your money into a hard asset that you can enjoy everyday is becoming a very popular option, especially now when the marketplace is lower then it’s been in many years. We invite you to put your money into a vehicle that is fun to own and brings back memories of when you were younger.
With the increase in turnover has come the increased need of fine automobiles. We are constantly looking for exceptional cars and travel the country coast to coast in search of the rare and unusual. We find our cars through individuals like yourselves as well as classic car and dealer auctions. We do not purchase vehicles that we would not be proud to own ourselves.
