Description:You can buy new trucks on the showroom floor that aren\'t as dialed-in, great-looking, and all-day comfortable as this 1954 Ford F-100. And we can safely assume that none of them come with a matching enclosed trailer. Packing plenty of V8 power, a high-visibility paint job punctuated with some excellent vintage pinstripes, and plenty of creature comforts that vastly improve the ride experience, this turn-key Ford pickup is one of those rare haulers that really can do it all.
There\'s no denying that the mid-50s Ford pickups were some of the best-looking tools ever built. With a slightly aggressive, forward-canted attitude up front, lowered stance, and reworked step side bed out back, the curvy bodywork of this fully restored 2nd generation F-Series truck manages to perfectly balance that classic American pickup look with a sporty, upgraded curb appeal. A vivid paint job is a must if you want to showcase your ride, and the Peacock Blue finish on this hauler is flat-out impressive. Art Deco and pastel colors always work best on \'50s-era rides, and the modern materials used to coat the curvy bodywork elevate this F-100 to another level. Bright paint is the perfect complement for the stock clamshell hood, round fenders and quarters, and redesigned doors on the \'54 pickup, with a smooth, uniform look that practically glows as it cruises down the street. Fit and finish are great driver-quality all around, and while it does show some signs of age and imperfections, it\'s exactly the kind of strong driver-quality truck you can get in, turn the key, and drive cross-country while collecting thumbs-up gestures along the way. Note how well the big doors fit, how the big domed hood sits almost perfectly flush with the fenders, and the step plates on the running boards are period-perfect touches that weren\'t forgotten during the restoration. Vintage-style, hand-drawn pinstripes on the hood, cab, and tailgate add a ton of character to the build, and the inside of the bed was finished off with gorgeous, dark-stained wood flooring and color-matched rub strip slats that hold it all together. The builders loved that Peacock Blue color so much they covered the bumpers, grille, and even the accompanying rear trailer in the same shade, resulting in a uniform look that pops off the screen.
The interior is a mix of newer technology and old-fashioned hot-rodding ingenuity, working together to form an honest, comfortable cabin ready for long hauls. There was a lot of money spent here to get it into its current condition, and while the build is likely over a decade old or more, it looks a fraction of that age inside, thanks to gentle care inside. Late-model bucket seats are the star of the cab -split by a matching storage console and flanked by matching door panels at the flanks – and the gray vinyl upholstery they\'ve been covered in really looks great. The modern materials inside wear like iron and have been well-cared for since the build was completed. With light gray carpets, rubber floormats down below, and a matching gray headliner above, everything ties together quite nicely with the bright blue bodywork. All the exposed metal inside was covered in Peacock Blue paint, including the dash that features more of that custom pinstripe work we saw outside. Modern conveniences include R134a A/C, an Alpine AM/FM/CD/AUC head unit that powers upgraded speakers inside the kick panels, and a leather-wrapped Grant steering wheel mounted atop a tilt column. A billet instrument panel ahead of the driver maintains a cool \'50s shape. Still, it is filled with white-faced Dolphin analog/digital instruments that keep a closer eye on the upgraded drivetrain below. And if you need the extra storage space, the trailer out back is simply a converted former U-Haul unit that was quickly painted to match and shod with flashy alloys.
Power in the form of a 350 cubic inch V8 Chevy small block means that this truck moves with genuine authority. T
