My 1954 Buick Super is up for adoption, looking for a
new home. I have owned this Buick for 15 years now
and have enjoyed it as my May through October daily
driver for 20000 miles. The car is technically a Model
52 Super Riviera Sedan, currently and accurately
shows 61400 miles.
This senior bodied Buick (127 inch wheelbase) is in
absolutely excellent driving condition with no
mechanical issues. 322 cubic inch vertical valve V8
182 hp. with a 2bbl carb. The car starts instantly and
drives as a Buick should, very powerful and smooth.
During my ownership this Buick has been treated to a
new starter, complete tune up including new hoses
and wires, new tires and complete brake job. In
addition the rear axle has been resealed with new seals
and racers. In the summer of 2020 both the original
2bbl carb and the dual action fuel pump have been
completely and professionally restored, not a simple
rebuild but a complete restoration for maximum
reliability and performance. In 2011, approximately
10,000 miles ago the
Dynaflow was professionally disassembled, cleaned,
and completely resealed by Trans Colonial Auto in
Chagrin Falls, Ohio, a company I have trusted with
many of my vintage vehicles for years. Again this car
has virtually no mechanical issues, get in and drive to
you have already saved any shipping charges... simply
drive it home.
Cosmetically the Buick is in good driver condition.
Willow Green with a darker green roof. Patina is in right
now and this Buick has it. Looks great and will certainly
hold its own at any Wednesday night Cruise In but
really not a Pebble Beach car. Has been touched up
here and there over the years and has an extremely
solid body including floors. Interior is very serviceable.
Front seat has been reupholstered some years back
holding up well. All glass is clear and unbroken and all
gauges except temperature gauge work accurately.
Temp gauge never did work. Nice exterior stainless
and overall average Chrome.
Car is 99% complete missing only Trunk
nameplate(never had it) and right hand sun visor(broke
some years back). Literally all else present and ready
I have been a vintage auto collector nearly fifty years
now, and this has been my favorite driver for as long as
I can remember. So why am I selling? OK, I recently
found a 1936 Buick Century Touring sedan and only
have enough space for the cars I own so one car has
to move along and reluctantly the 1954 was chosen. In
other words selling because I need the space. This will
make an excellent tour car, cruise in driver, or daily, or
a great first vehicle for someone wanting to get into
the hobby with a great driver ready to go. As an added
note 1954 is generally regarded by Buick people as the
most desirable Buick of the decade. But then again
that's up to the individual. I love the '54s but also own
a '56 Roadmaster. Calls (330-806-7587) or email
invited. May consider a partial trade up to $5000 to
assist a serious buyer. Automobiles only... no
Motorcycles, tractors or livestock please, and yes I
have been offered these in trade in years past.
