I bought this car in 2001 and have seen about 6
since then on the internet. I just got the car
back from a relative who has had it for 6 years.
It was garaged but not driven much. It is a
wonderful daily driver and loves to be in car
shows. It draws a lot of attention and interest
wherever it goes. So be prepared to meet new
enthusiasts who will want to know more about the
car and who will share their own memories
associated with one of these rare pieces of
The paint looks good from a few feet away but has
a couple of bubbles and some chips, and there is
one spot on the driver side below the rear window
where the paint has peeled. The body has no rust.
The rear bumper has some surface rust that is
easily removed with a little work. The front
grill has some rust, also removed when worked on.
There are a few small dings on the body that one
would expect from being parked by other vehicles.
There is a small ding on the front bumper. A new
British Racing Green canvas top was made for it in
2004 and it has one tiny hole where it is tucked
into the boot. It can not be seen unless you know
where it is. A new hydraulic lift was installed
to replace the old screw and jack system in
2003/04. The driver door needs to adjusted to
close and open better. The stainless is in
excellent condition. The driver side rear window
is cracked and in the trunk. All other glass is in
great shape with no cracks or other issues.
The engine runs smooth and strong. I think it is a
289 V8 but some say it is a 302. Either way, it is
powerful, responsive and runs great. I just
installed a new air breather/filter, tuned up the
2 barrel carb, installed a new battery, replaced
a broken brake line and put in a new ignition
The interior seats are in good shape. I had the
entire car, inside and out repainted in 2003-04.
The exterior color is sungate ivory (very light
yellow) which is the correct color of the car
when it rolled off the assembly line. The interior
color is a green which is also the correct color.
The dark green floor carpets are faded but
presentable. Some of the knobs are missing. The
upholstery is green and white vinyl and is in good
The Coronado Kit is a nice dealer addition. The
trunk is missing the lock so that will need to be
addressed at a small cost. The trunk is in good
shape with no rust issues at all. The trunk has a
rubber mat adhered to the metal flooring and the
tire well is dry with no issues.
I do not know the mileage on the car. When I
bought this car the mileage was unknown. It has
been driven under 1000 miles since I have owned
