Vehicle Description

Forget trailers, this slick 1946 Chevy ramp truck is the coolest way to transport your ride since the Air Force started dropping tanks out of an airplane. Built around a 1986 Chevy 1-ton chassis, it\'s one heck of a way to make a very big entrance at any show you attend, and it\'s practical, too! The post-war Chevys were very similar to their pre-war siblings, and this \'46 represents the end-of-the-line before the New Design trucks hit the market. Retaining the traditional old truck looks of separate headlights, an upright grille, and two-tone paint, it projects simplicity and reliability. Green with black fenders was a common color combination in the \'30s and \'40s, and this one delivers with fashionable satin black and green paint that\'s just right for the working-class hauler. The cab is in great shape, but not so nice you\'re afraid to put it to work, and no old truck looks right without a logo on the door like this one. There\'s a Warn winch to help incapacitated vehicles, along with ramps, tie-downs, and storage boxes for a genuine dose of practicality. In 1946, trucks were working-class machines with a bare minimum of creature comforts, but today this street stretcher is equipped for cross-country hauls in comfort. The bench seat is upholstered with handsome and comfortable cloth in a diamond pattern that gives it a semi-custom look. A tilt column makes it easy to get comfortable behind the wheel and anybody who has driven a late-model Chevy truck will feel right at home. Modern gauges were fitted into a custom billet panel that fits neatly in the original dash, while the center stack was modified to handle the controls for the Vintage Air A/C system. It\'s a great combination of the original truck\'s simplicity with features that make it painless to drive, well, just about anywhere. As I mentioned, the chassis is a heavy-duty Chevy 1-ton, which handles the ramp bed setup with ease. Providing motive force is a 290 horsepower 350 cubic inch Chevy crate motor that\'s definitely a tight fit in the engine bay originally designed for an inline-six. Power brakes and steering fit neatly around the small block, which also features an Edelbrock carb, long-tube headers, and dual exhaust. A giant aluminum radiator and electric fan keep it cool, even when it\'s hauling heavy loads with the A/C blasting. And speaking of the A/C, it uses modern R134a refrigerant for easy maintenance. A heavy-duty TH400 3-speed automatic is the gearbox you want in your heavy hauler, and the original dually rear end hangs on massive leaf springs that actually ride pretty well. Six new 10-ply radial tires have been installed and the chrome wheels give it just the right look for a combination show/work truck that\'ll have something special riding on its back. If you\'ve been looking for just the right tow vehicle, you\'ve found it. Better yet, this big Chevy is sure to create a scene anywhere it goes. Call today! Unfortunately, there are people out there who will use classifieds to get your money. Here are some ways to avoid these scams. Use skepticism and good judgment.
  1. Be wary if the price is notably below market value.
