1970 Low Mileage El Camino
Talk about pampered..this baby has been in the family for 34 years! Downsizing forces sale of this beautiful red on black SS clone El Camino. Boasting 76,000 original miles and original 350 cubic inch motor, this car has the added goodies: B&M Supercharger forced induction with Holly Single 4-barrel carb to boost the horsepower into the 450 range. Four-tube headers and Flowmaster mufflers with dual exhaust out the back give it that serious sound.
Other features include: Power steering, 12-bolt rear end, sway bar, bolt-on traction bars, Mallory distributor & coil, chrome alternator, Moroso chrome valve covers, new coil springs and shocks, rebuilt hydraulic power brakes, disc front and drums rear, factory automatic transmission, tinted glass, Centerline wheels with Goodyear Eagle radials.
Solid and straight as an arrow, this el Camino was lightly restored in 1979. Work performed includes two new front fenders, new hood, new bumpers, bottom undercoating, and total paint color change from factory silver/gold two tone, to a more striking red with black stripe. The rear quarters were in good shape so they were not replaced. Remember, this car was painted over 30 years ago, but careful storage in a heated garage results in paint that still has that sparkling shine.
Original black interior is presentable, dash, headliner, and glass are all excellent. Pickup bed and tailgate, as shown in pictures, is excellent. Kill switch has been installed
Areas that need attention that we noted when inspecting the car are shown in pictures:
-minimal rust in floor pan behind seat area (typical of these cars)..each door has one tiny rust bubble in paint (it has not come through yet, and bubble is about ½ inch wide), one taillight lens is cracked, some of the stainless trim pieces are not perfect, couple of tiny paint chips as shown, one scuff on lower rocker passenger side.
.The good far outweighs any of the small defects in this beauty, it runs like a clock, and is ready for cruising or a long trip. A car you’ll be proud to bring to car shows!!
