1940 Mercury Coupe Custom Convertible For Sale. This one of a kind classic is powered by a 1940 Ford Truck 239CID 81T engine hooked to the stock three speed manual column shift transmission. This car has been a street rod most of its life. Originally customized by California coach builder Carl Miller in 1946 this car harkens back to the beginning of hot rodding. The car was redone in 1989 by the current owner who has had the car since 1952. This Merc has a laundry list of modifications starting with channeling the body the width of the frame, a top chop of four inches, converted to a lift off steel top covered in blue fabric. the running boards have been removed, the sill panels have been rolled, the hood and deck lid have been filled and smoothed, out front is a had formed steel grill and out back bullet Cadillac taillights have been added. The interior sports blue velour door panels and headliner and light blue carpet, the front high back bucket seats swivel to face the table, refrigerator and TV that have replaced the back seat. With the top off it makes for a great place to sit and hangout at the shows. The car rolls on steel rims with hubcaps wrapped with bias ply wide whitewall tires that have been filled with nitrogen. This old school lead sled is located in our Louisville showroom. For more information visit our website at gatewayclassiccars.com or call the showroom at 812-294-1555. |

Unfortunately, there are people out there who will use classifieds to get your money.

- Be wary if the price is notably below market value.
