Vehicle Description

Introduced in 1949, the full-size Oldsmobile 88 was produced until 1999 and became the top-selling line for twenty-four years. Produced in Wentzville, Missouri, and both Flint and Lake Orion, Michigan, the Oldsmobile Eighty Eight was a representation of an image. Especially during the beginning three years, the Oldsmobile 88 was one of the best performing automobiles. This was most likely due to its small size, along with the lightweight and advanced over-head valve high-compression V8 engines. Detail changes for 1975 included revised grilles and taillights along with new rear quarter windows for pillared and Holiday sedans - the latter\'s design similar to an opera window. The same assortment of 350 and 455-cubic-inch Rocket V8s were still offered along with a one-year-only (and seldom-ordered) option of a Pontiac-built 400-cubic-inch V8 with two-barrel carburetor and 170 horsepower (130 kW) rating. All engines were hooked up to a catalytic converter that not only mandated the use of unleaded gasoline but also spelled the end of dual exhaust systems. 1975 was the final year for the Delta 88 Royale convertible, the last of which was built on June 11, 1975. Just under 7200 Delta 88 Royale convertibles were built in 1975 as Oldsmobile made a concerted effort to target the convertible buyer market at the time. The headline on a print ad for a 1975 Olds Delta 88 Royale convertible stated, \"Today a beautiful Olds convertible. Tomorrow, a collector\'s item!\" Well, tomorrow is now today! This incredible big block 1975 Oldsmobile Delta 88 Royale comes finished in the original color of Ebony Black with Black top and Dark Oxblood interior. This appears to be a nearly all original car that has never undergone any kind of major restoration. The original owner had the car until 1981 when it was sold to a collector in New Hampshire. Then the car showed only 58,490 miles. He then had the car until we purchased it earlier this year. Mileage now shows 70,305 which is said to be actual for the car. The exterior is in good overall condition with only a few minor flaws. It is nearly all original and in great condition for being nearly 37 years old. The bumpers are both in good condition with no damage or major pitting showing. The black power soft top goes up and down with no issues and shows no notable imperfections. There are no rips or tears. The weather stripping is original for the car. Inside, the dark oxford vinyl interior is in good condition with no major rips or tears. The interior appears to be all original for the car. The original carpet is in good condition along with the dash and door panels. All power windows work with no issues as do the lights, blinkers, horn and wipers. The A/C does blow. Under the hood, the big 455 Cu In V8 starts with a turn of the key. The transmission shifts as it should with no problems as well. This is a great driving, original mileage car that you can drive everyday if you would like. The car currently shows 70,305 miles and VIN number is 3N67T5X117895. The car is being sold on the original title showing the original owner purchased the car on February 6, 1975 when the car only showed 02 miles.
LEARN TO RECOGNIZE GOOD DEALS FROM BAD:
Unfortunately, there are people out there who will use classifieds to get your money. Here are some ways to avoid these scams. Use skepticism and good judgment.
  1. Be wary if the price is notably below market value.
  2. Be prudent with International transactions. A good number of buyer/seller fraud attempts originate from overseas.
  3. Confirm contact information. Legitimate buyers/sellers will provide valid information, including phone.
  4. In almost every case scammers will convey a sense of urgency.
