Vehicle Description

In the early 1970s, when muscle was fading away due to regulations and gas prices, car companies were working overtime to get people into the showrooms. The result of one team\'s labor was the Buick Sun Coupe, a Skylark with a giant canvas sunroof designed and installed by the American Sun Roof Corporation. Only 3943 were built in 1972, making them some of the rarest of all Skylarks and a wonderful car to drive today. What better choice for your Sun Coupe than code 56 Sunburst Yellow paint? With a GS-style rear spoiler and the black top, this rare Buick takes on a performance attitude that isn\'t just for show. It\'s possible that the paint is original, but given the presentation as well as the hardware upgrades, it\'s obvious that this car was owned by someone who knew what he wanted. Paint is still quite nice, panel gaps are even, and the car just looks right the way it sits today. And, of course, there\'s that big sunroof, which has been fully restored. It slides easily, the canvas is in great shape, and despite what you might think, it seals up quite well. The open-air experience it offers transforms the coupe, and you probably won\'t get tired of being the center of attention every time you peel it open. Inside, the Skylark was still stylish, comfortable, and most of all, a Buick which means goodies like factory A/C are part of the deal. That means luxury and performance in equal doses, although this one is packing some extra heat (more on that in a moment). The black buckets have been reskinned and look brand new, and the back seat has probably never seen any passengers since the build was completed. There\'s also a flat-out awesome center console (kudos on the artistic photography, guys) with the world\'s coolest shifter, and the polished shift plate glitters as the centerpiece of the entire passenger compartment. Crisp markings on the gauges mean they\'ve been rebuilt, and there are new carpets on the floor with matching mats. The trunk is neatly finished as well, offering a new mat with a correct spare tire cover. So about the upgrades. Well, under the hood you\'ll find a GS Stage 1-spec 455 cubic inch Buick V8, which is unquestionably the king of torque. The Dante Red paint on the block looks stock, but things like the Edelbrock intake and carb, the freshly ceramic-coated exhaust manifolds, and the open-element air cleaner mean it\'s dressed for combat. Stock-style chrome valve covers add some flair, and there\'s a giant BeCool aluminum radiator up front keeping it all under control. A heavy-duty TH400 transmission handles the horsepower. Brakes are upgraded with slotted rotors and 4-piston calipers up front hiding behind a set of Torque Thrusts that look exactly right. Big power in a very cool package-no other A-body came close in \'72. Call today! This vehicle is located in our Charlotte showroom. LEARN TO RECOGNIZE GOOD DEALS FROM BAD:
Unfortunately, there are people out there who will use classifieds to get your money. Here are some ways to avoid these scams. Use skepticism and good judgment.
  1. Be wary if the price is notably below market value.
  2. Be prudent with International transactions. A good number of buyer/seller fraud attempts originate from overseas.
  3. Confirm contact information. Legitimate buyers/sellers will provide valid information, including phone.
  4. In almost every case scammers will convey a sense of urgency.
