Overall this car is in very good shape. It is a rust-free California car. It has always been registered in California and still has the black and gold license plates. Registration recently renewed, but decals not yet installed. The paint shows its age and the Landau top needs some TLC. The damage pictured in the photo of the right front fender happened when a tire decided to let loose. Since then, all four tires have been replaced. The body is straight, the engine (390 CID – 300HP) runs very strong, and the A/C works great. Everything in the car is operational. Recent repairs include; new rear brake cylinders, master cylinder, radiator and heater core, power brake booster, and rebuilt carburetor. Spare parts include: Antenna, headlights and spark plug wires. The interior is complete, original and in very good shape. Also included are the factory service manual and the original vehicle owner’s manual.
This car will be worth a great deal of money when fully restored. According to NADA, high retail for the 1965 Ford Thunderbird Landau 2-Door Hardtop is $31,720. This is actually up over $4,000 from last years NADA listing (Check here to find out for yourself: http://www.nadaguides.com/default.aspx?LI=1-22-1-5013-0-0-0&l=1&w=22&p=1&f=5014&y=1965&m=1065&d=2848&c=7&o=34674~13919&vi=71796&z=92808&da=-1). The reserve is much less.
The reason for selling this car is that there was a death in the family and the owner inherited other vehicles so something has to go.
