The Texas Museum of Automotive History was opened in November, 2010, and it has quickly earned a reputation as one of the most important automotive museums in the state of Texas. This museum is situated in Fair Park, a well-known tourist attraction in the city of Dallas, and it offers a superb opportunity for the public to learn about the history of American automobiles.
For now, the museum is located in the Grand Palace building, but it is expected to move to the present site of the Museum of Nature and Science in Fair Park in the year 2013. When you visit the museum, you will be able to see about 80 splendid classic cars, which represent more than eight decades of automobile manufacturing in the United States. The oldest car that is on display dates back to 1901, the year when the first auto racing event was held in Dallas. The museum’s newest car was built in 1984, the year when a Formula 1 race took place in Fair Park. Every car that is showcased in the museum has a unique story, and you can be assured that your visit will be a most fulfilling experience. Other than beautiful classic cars, the museum also features an excellent auto restoration program that demonstrates how cars are maintained, restored, and rebuilt.
