How to Select the Right Classic Car Transport Service (Part 2)

Posted by Steve White on Aug 10, 2012

Another thing you need to look into when selecting a classic car transport service is the reliability of the company. Call the company and ask about the condition of its trucks, and check its safety records and ratings with the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration, or FMCSA.

It is important that you inspect your classic car thoroughly before and after it is transported. If there are any damages on the car, you should notify the company immediately. Most auto transport companies will perform an inspection before they transport a vehicle, and they carry insurance for general liability and cargo. The cargo insurance will cover any damage that is sustained by your vehicle while it is being transported.

If you can find a reliable classic car transport company, moving your car over a long distance will be an easy and worry-free task. It may take about three to five days for the company to send a truck to pick up your car, and the time needed to deliver it depends on the location of the final destination. The company will be able to give you an accurate estimate of the time of delivery.
