Stamp of Approval

The US Post Office has certainly had its share of bad news these days – the shrinking hours, eliminated delivery days and forecasts of more job reductions probably has them wishing for better days gone by. Maybe that is why they have issued the five stamp series dedicated to the Muscle cars of the sixties and seventies.

The five models to be featured on stamps are: the 1966 Pontiac GTO, the 1967 Shelby GT-500, the 1969 Dodge Charger Daytona, the 1970 Plymouth Barracuda and the 1970 Chevelle SS. You can see them all at the USPS website.

For many collectors this new collection of stamps represents the gold standard of classic cars. Unfortunately though, the only way many collectors will own all five of these spectacular classics might be in their stamp form. Getting a card or letter bring the same thrill as getting behind the wheel of one of these beauties, but these “America on the Move” stamps will certainly be able to add excitement to picking up the mail.
