Phil McGraw’s Classic Chevy Stolen from Auto Shop

Phil McGraw, host of popular talk show Dr. Phil, reported to the police that his classic Chevy was stolen from an auto shop.

Prior to being stolen, the car, a black 1957 two-door Chevy convertible with white and silver trim, was unable to start due to transmission problems. McGraw and his friend tried to repair it, but they could not. So, they decided to send it to an auto shop in Burbank, California.

A few hours after the car was taken to the shop, McGraw received a call from the shop notifying him that his car was stolen.

According to the police, the theft was a smash job. The thieves broke into the auto shop through a roll-up door and stole the classic car.

The 61-year-old talk show host is a loving owner of his Chevy. He had spent a lot of time restoring and maintaining the car and its V-8 engine.

The car was part of an impressive collection of classic and exotic cars owned by McGraw. He occasionally puts some of his cars up for auction. In 2006, he offered a 2001 Gemballa Porsche and a 2002 Ferrari 360 Spider for sale at the Barrett-Jackson Palm Beach Auction.

McGraw’s other cars probably will not offer much consolation for the loss of his beloved Chevy. The stolen classic car is estimated to be worth $100,000.
