2010 Elkhart Lake Vintage Festival

Posted by Steve White on Sep 08, 2010

The picturesque village of Elkhart Lake will once again be hosting the spectacular Elkhart Lake Vintage Festival. The festival is organized by the Vintage Sports Car Drivers Association and the Historic Race Circuits Preservation Society, and it will be held from the 10th to 12th of September, 2010. It is a celebration of 60 years of open road auto racing in the Elkhart Lake area.

The featured marque of this year’s Elkhart Lake Vintage Festival is Elva, which will be celebrating its 55th anniversary. The main racing event will feature an impressive selection of vintage and classic cars, including Austin Healer, Alfa Romeo, Porsche, MG, Jaguar, Triumph, Aston Martin, Maserati, Bugatti, and Ferrari. This event will be the last major public auto racing event of the season on the Road America track, and it should not be missed by classic car racing enthusiasts. Other than the main event, attendees of the festival can also enjoy a car show featuring 75-100 splendid vehicles, a fun-based historic sports car rally, tours to historic circuits in the region, a road course reenactment, and a banquet cocktail reception at The Osthoff, with 1952 race winner John Fitsch as guest speaker.

A 3 day-pass for the Elkhart Lake Vintage Festival costs $40.00 if purchased in advance and $80.00 at the gate. If you need more information about the festival, you can visit the Road America website.

I remember last 2009 race, It was amazing. VSCDA is a Midwest-based vintage racing association of approximately 800 members that aims to give its participants ample opportunity for track time and friendly competition via practice and qualifying sessions, sprint races, handicap run and enduros.

I will definitely come to see this race. Thanks for sharing.
