In celebration the company is putting out a special anniversary edition based on the 911 Carrera S but with a wider body across the rear wheel arches. This limited edition will debut at the International Motor Show this September in Frankfurt, just like the original did in 1963. They will only produce 1,963 of these vehicles to commemorate that first year.

The 911 was the successor to the Porsche 356 and could make 130 miles per hour thanks to its 130 horsepower flat six engine. In 1963 a man who sold heaters and tractors founded an automobile company in Sant’Agata Bolognese Italy. He was Ferruccio Lamborghini and he created one of the most famous and impressive line of cars in history. The Lamborghini Company is now getting ready to celebrate their fiftieth anniversary at the Cholmondeley Estate, Chelsea, UK.

The event will feature a run around the 1.2 mile circuit at that site by a Lamborghini Gallardo LP 570-4 Superleggera Edizone Tecnica which will surely challenge, if not eclipse, the fastest time ever there. The previous best time currently belongs to an earlier version of this very model.

Lamborghinis are the most stylish but not always the most user friendly vehicles on the planet. Car Restoration Contractor Shut Down by North Carolina Attorney General

The Winston Salem County Journal reported on June 3, 2013 that a car restoration business owned by Robert Allen McElreath is under a restraining order issued by the North Carolina Attorney General. The business is no longer allowed to take orders or advance deposits from customers after 52 complaints had been received over the course of the past year from dissatisfied customers. According to the report there have been a number of complaints from as far back as 2009.

There are a number of companies owned by Mr. McElreath that are being temporarily restrained from doing business. Pick a Pony, Build a Bandit, Pontiac Pros, Common Man Classic Hot Rods and Discount Automotive Restorations have all been named in the aforementioned court action. This is bad news for the restoration industry as a whole as no one needs this kind of bad publicity for their profession.
