Auburn, Indiana is widely considered the “classic car capital of the world”, and it lives up to its reputation by holding the Auburn Cord Duesenberg Festival on Labor Day weekend every year. This year, the festival is in its 54th edition, and it will be held from the 2nd of September to the 6th of September, 2010. More than 200,000 people from across the United States and other countries are expected to attend this grand and exciting festival.
The festival will feature lots of interesting classic car-related events, including a drag race, auctions, cruise-in, arts fair, and much more. The Auburn Cord Duesenberg Automobile Museum will be holding extra events throughout the festival, including the 5th ACDA Museum Benefit Extravaganza, the Arts Show and Sale, the Connecting Rods Luncheon, and the Gala Ball for museum members. One of the highlights of the festival is the downtown cruise-in, which will attract more than 700 participating vehicles as well as thousands of spectators. Those who enjoy drag racing can attend The Ab Jenkins Memorial Duesenberg Exhibition of Speed and Stinson Fly-In, a thrilling drag race at the Kendallville Airport. Auctions that will be conducted during the festival include The Auburn Auction by Worldwide Auctioneers, Auctions America by RM, and Classical Event Auctions.
Other notable events that will be organized during the 54th Auburn Cord Duesenberg Festival include the ACD Parade of Classics, Cars and Guitars, Garage Cruise, Classic Car Masterworks, Motoring to the Square, Auburn Arts Fair, Brain Games, and others.

If you are a Corvette owner or enthusiast, you will have the time of your life at the Corvettes at Carlisle. This event is known as grandest Corvette event in the world, and it is entirely dedicated to the celebration of the iconic American sports car. It will be held from at the Fairgrounds in Carlisle, Pennsylvania from the 27th to 29th of August, 2010, and it features a wide range of exciting shows and activities for people of all ages.
More than 4,000 Corvettes will be participating in the event, and they represent all year models from 1953 to present. Some of the highlights of the event include an autocross, a parade in downtown Carlisle, dyno testing, and burnouts. This year’s featured car is the American Flag 158-Corvette that appeared in the famous movie “Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me”. Other than car shows and races, you can also buy or sell Corvettes and Corvette parts at the swap meet, car corral, and the Manufacturers Midway.
Gates at the Carlisle Fairgrounds will be open from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. from Thursday to Saturday and 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Sunday. One-day tickets for the Corvettes at Carlisle are priced at $14.00 for adults, and 4-day passes cost $40.00. Children aged 8 and below will be admitted free of charge.

The world’s grandest single-day auto event is here again, and it promises to be more spectacular and exciting than ever before. This year’s Woodward Dream Cruise will be held on the 21st of August, 2010, and it will again take place on the famed Woodward Avenue in Oakland County, Michigan, traveling from the city of Pontiac to the State Fair Grounds in Detroit. The event will be attended by more than 1.5 million auto enthusiasts from around the world.
On the day of the event, over 40,000 classic cars will be seen cruising along Woodward Avenue, and these cars are mostly muscle cars, custom cars, hot rods, and special interest cars. Participants of the cruise will get the chance to visit some historically significant places along the way, including drive-ins and restaurants such as the Totem Pole, Ted’s, Hollywood, Big Boy, Suzie Q’s, and Wigwam. These iconic establishments offer cruisers a chance to relive an era that was best represented in movies and television shows such as American Graffiti, Grease, and the Happy Days. They were popular stopovers and meeting places for motorists from the 1950s to the 1970s.
The participating communities along Woodward Avenue will also be holding special events to welcome participants of the Woodward Dream Cruise. These communities include Ferndale, Royal Oak, Pleasant Ridge, Huntington Woods, Bloomfield, Pontiac, and Berkley.

The Goodguys Rod and Custom Association will be holding its highly anticipated Goodguys Blue Suede Cruise from the 28th to the 30th August, 2010. This annual event is in its ninth year, and it continues to be one of the largest gatherings of hot rods and custom cars in Ohio. It will take place at the Summit Motorsports Park in Norwalk, Ohio, and it is expected to draw thousands of auto enthusiasts from various parts of the Midwest and beyond.
There will be more than 2,000 vehicles on display throughout the three-day event, and they include hot rods, customs, classic cars, and race cars that were produced before 1972. Participants of the car show will compete for a number of awards, including the Goodguys Builder’s Choice Awards, Gazette Pick, and the Muscle of the Year Finalist. Other than the car show, attendees of the event will also get to see hot drag racing action. A swap meet, car corral, commercial exhibits, and night parties will also be held throughout the event.
The Goodguys Blue Suede Cruise will commence at 8:00 a.m. and end at 5:00 p.m. on the first two days. On the final day, it will start at 8:00 a.m. and close at 3:00 p.m. Tickets for spectators are priced at $20.00 for adults and $6.00 for children aged 7 to 12, and a weekend pass costs $55.00.

The Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance is widely regarded as the most prestigious classic car show in the world, and it will be celebrating its 60th anniversary this year. The event will showcase the finest automobiles and motorcycles in the world, and it will again be held on the famous 18th fairway of the Pebble Beach Golf Links. It will take place on the 15th of August, 2010, but a number of exciting events that are related to the concours will be presented as early as the 12th of August.
Only 175 of the most valuable and rarest automobiles and motorcycles in the world will get the chance to participate in the esteemed Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance every year. This year, the featured marques are Alfa Romeo, Jaguar, and Pierce Arrow, and the designs of Ghia will also be showcased. Other types of vehicles that will be featured include Hot Rods and Indy cars, as well as pre-1960 American motorcycles. In the days leading up to the event, auto enthusiasts can attend the Pebble Beach Tour d’Elegance, Pebble Beach Motoring Classic, Pebble Beach Retro Auto, Pebble Beach Auction, and the Automotive Fine Arts Society Exhibition.
