FOR SALE: 2013 Cushman 3-Wheeler
The Cushman Company produced motor scooters from 1936 to 1965. Cushman was an engine manufacturer that started making scooters after Salsbury found their offer to supply engines to be unacceptable. Cushman and Salsbury competed against each other, with both companies advertising the economy of their scooters. Cushman claimed an efficiency of 120 MPG at 30 MPH. Cushman introduced a centrifugal clutch to their scooters in 1940. The Cushman Auto Glide Model 53 was designed to be dropped by parachute with Army Airborne troops, and was eventually called the \"Cushman Airborne.\" Cushman scooters were also used around military bases for messenger service. MotoeXotica Classic Cars is pleased to present the Cushman Truckster Three Wheel Scooter you see here. Finished in red, the paint is in great condition with no notable imperfections. The front of the Cushman is a large, wooden stake bed that is also in great shape. The tan vinyl seat, complete with red piping, is in great condition, showing no wear marks. It may be referred to a Model 39 (G551 or G672) and was most likely built sometime in the 50s. The small engine is 2 7/8 bore by 2 3/4 stroke. Attached to the engine is a manual transmission.
