1987 MB 560 SL. 135K Miles.
The Good: Year and half ago had a "down to bare metal" repaint. Absolutely spectacular shape. Champagne w Brazil brown leather interior. Brown top. Runs and drives like a true German built tank. No rust anywhere on the car. Simply stunning car. Not much to say about her as she is near perfect. Very well maintained. All electrics work, including AC. Original Becker radio is still installed and works fine. The semi pagoda shaped hard top is in great shape and comes with its own caddy/stand.
The Bad: Two very minor issues. A very small crack on the dash in the usual location. The carpet on the rear shelf has faded, as is also fairly common.
This a three owner car. The last owner purchased the car for his wife. She drove it very little, had it parked out side an upscale restaurant in Westport, CT and someone slashed the soft top and stole her purse. She refused to drive the car from that point on. The top was replaced. The current owner has had her for over 10 years and has been invited to the Greenwich Concourse D'Elegance several times over the last few years. As the W113 "pagoda" top Benz climb too high for the average enthusiast, the 107 series SLs are currently rather affordable with a prediction of significant value increase over the next years. These are the ones to get into now and enjoy and sell later when they hit their high points.
Please contact me with any questions, and/or talk about this beautiful Benz.
