FOR SALE: 1986 Ford F150

It\'s unusual to find a nicely preserved F150, but to discover one this tastefully customized is something else entirely. If you\'re from the \"Dare to be Different\" crowd, this truck is sure to get your attention. At first glance, this simply looks like a nicely preserved 2-tone Ford, but look a little closer. That\'s not factory paint, that\'s a hugely expensive custom job that started with the original sheetmetal and built from there. Burgundy over silver is a classic combination that\'s been cool since the beginning of time. Finish work is extremely good, and we\'re not just saying that-this sucker is ready to grab a trophy or two just based on how it looks. Look closely at the accent stripe dividing the two main colors, which adds a custom touch that will make onlookers do a double-take and it\'s buried under the clear for a seamless look. There are no modifications to the body, the original chrome bumpers and factory grille are still in place, but this truck definitely stands out in a very big way. It\'s smooth, clean, and beautifully finished. The incredible tan leather interior is no less remarkable in its attention to detail. The leather seats are from a late-model pickup, but they fit perfectly here, almost as if the same guys designed them. Fresh tan carpets, beautiful original door panels, and a dash with a custom wood applique give it a very upscale look. And while you\'re looking around, dig the paint job, even on the door jambs and lower doors, which is just as nice as the exterior. A big center armrest doubles as a console but folds out of the way to allow a third passenger, and there\'s plenty of space in the big cab. The original gauges are still in place, but the factory\'s AM/FM radio is long gone, replaced by a Sony AM/FM/CD unit that sounds about a million times better. Also note factory A/C with an R134a conversion and the hidden cup holders which spring out of the center armrest, making this truck feel like a modern piece inside. If you\'re wondering why Ford offered both the 5.0 liter V8 and the puzzling 4.9 liter inline-six found in this truck, the answer is simple: torque. With a long strong and beefy pistons, this 300 cubic inch mill moves heavy loads, pulls trailers, and never complains. It\'s neatly packaged in the F150\'s engine bay, with everything easy to reach for service, and it runs things like the A/C and power steering without even noticing. It looks like this one has been nicely maintained all its life and never neglected, and both the engine and the 3-speed automatic transmission work as they should. Underneath, the chassis is shockingly clean, and offers a new gas tank and exhaust system, plus those handsome 17-inch American Racing aluminum wheels wearing 235/65/17 radials. You won\'t find many nicer trucks that this that can still works as trucks, and the six is surprisingly economical, too. Call today! This vehicle is located in our Charlotte showroom.
