FOR SALE: Great Survivor
From 1971-1977 GMC produced a version of Chevrolet’s El Camino called the Sprint. In 1978, the Sprint was renamed the El Cabellaro and it remained in production until 1987. The campaign slogan was “looks like a sporty car, feels like a sporty car, that’s’ Cabellaro.” Standard were the color keyed soft rim steering wheel and energy absorbent steering column, anti theft steering column, individually controlled right and left hand air vents, door activated courtesy dome lamps as well as ashtray and glove compartment lamps, cigarette lighter, 10’ wide rearview mirror, closed cell type rubber door seals, weather and sound absorbing insulation under the dash, on firewall, and under floor mat and other strategic points.
This 1979 GMC El Cabellaro has been with the current family since 1994. It is solid and runs and drives with excellent performance. With only 73,000 actual miles, the white paint is very good and the interior is good as well. This car is a good driver you can have fun with while restoring, it is a great candidate for restoration to quality show standards, or, you can just drive it now and have fun with no restoration.
The interior is blue and in good condition. Features are v8 engine with automatic transmission, power steering, power brakes, and AC. The AC does not work but all components are in tact.
For a great price you can have a good looking driver that will make a spectacular show car if restoration is desired. Located in NC, available for viewing by appointment.
