FOR SALE: 1973 Ford Mustang
Seriously? A Mustang convertible with factory air, lots of new parts and a rebuilt V8 for less than 20 grand? If this car lasts a week, I\'ll be shocked. The \'73 Mustang was the end of an era, and while these ponies aren\'t as popular as the earlier models, if you want a vintage Mustang with a top that goes down, it\'s still an A-list ride. The white paint is a rather unusual choice, but looks great on the long hood and rounded quarter panels. This car is just out of long-term storage, and thanks to a lifetime in a warm, dry climate, shows no issues in any of the usual spots, and the doors fit well and close easily, which means it\'s solid underneath. Paint is quite good, with a soft shine that could certainly pass for 1973 vintage enamel, and even the urethane front bumper is in excellent condition with no cracks or major damage. The grille, rear bumper chrome, and big taillights are also in excellent condition. This white ragtop looks every bit as good in person as it does in photos, and there\'s nothing hiding in the corners. The interior is a great combination of impressive original components and recently freshened gear. Obviously those searing white seats have fresh seat covers, and the navy blue carpets are so dark that they\'ve never seen the afternoon sun. There\'s also a center console with a clock and the shifter for the C4 3-speed automatic gearbox, and factory A/C is a rare option on a convertible. The gauges are excellent, with clear lenses and bright markings, plus a white-faced temperature gauge mounted under the dash. The original AM/FM radio remains in the dash, and you can even see in the photos how clean the door jambs are. Overhead, a white convertible top with a glass rear window retracts with a push of a button, and stashes under a matching white boot. The trunk offers a correct mat, spare tire cover, and even a matching tool bag. The engine bay is just as clean as the rest of the car, with the original 302 wearing a bright coat of Ford Blue paint and a matching air cleaner. It\'s nestled deep in there, so there\'s not a lot to show off, but it\'s fully functional, ultra clean and completely unmodified so this one has never been abused, either. The factory gear is all there and in great condition, and thanks to a recent service it starts quickly and runs well. The 3-speed automatic transmission shows the same fresh paint as the engine, so it\'s been recently out of the car and serviced, with a great-sounding dual exhaust system that isn\'t exactly stock on this particular car, but you won\'t care once you hear it. There\'s also a new gas tank, a 9-inch rear with a set of highway gears, and stock steel wheels with hubcaps and newer white-letter radials. Mustangs this clean just don\'t sit around, so if you like the styling, you\'ll love everything else. A solid ragtop with no stories, don\'t wait on this one, it won\'t last. Call now!
