FOR SALE: 1972 Chevrolet Corvette
If you\'re a first-time Corvette buyer looking for the right car, we\'d strongly recommend this 1972 roadster. It has matching numbers, which you\'ll agree is important, as well as a 4-speed and a ton of options, making it a pleasure to drive. Best of all, someone else has already done all the hard work, so all you need to do is turn the key and enjoy. The unusual code 945 Bryar Blue paint gives this Corvette a subdued look, but the shape is instantly recognizable just about anywhere in the world. Vintage fiberglass tends to show its age, but someone already fixed this one and did it well. There are no cracks around the headlights, the doors fit well, and although it\'s been driven and enjoyed a bit, the finish still looks fantastic. The \'72s are also popular because they\'re the last of the chrome bumper models, which many enthusiasts prefer, not to mention the egg crate grilles up front and the bright rocker panel moldings. Inside, the standard black Corvette interior remains in excellent shape. Seat covers, door panels, carpets, and all the other soft parts look right and match the car\'s overall condition quite well. There\'s no notable wear, no damage to any of the upholstery, and when you\'re behind the wheel, you\'ll feel like a million bucks. The gauges are all original, showing crisp markings and clear lenses, and Chevy was still putting that cool plate on the center console with the engine\'s specifications (in this case, the base 350 cubic inch V8). Loaded with options such as power windows, A/C, and an AM/FM stereo radio, not to mention the anti-theft system that became standard equipment in 1972, it\'s easy to love this Corvette. The black vinyl top seals up well and stashes invisibly beneath the hard deck behind the seats, and even if you\'re a rookie, with a little practice you\'ll master throwing it down in seconds while stopped at a red light. As I mentioned the engine is the base 350, which was rated at 200 horsepower and 360 pounds of torque. This is the original, numbers-matching engine, and it sticks to the factory specifications except for a fresh stainless dual exhaust system with Thrush mufflers and a crossover pipe. The Chevy Orange engine enamel could very well be factory-applied, and the big air cleaner up top still wears its original A/C decal. Underneath, there are a ton of new components, including the toe links, lower A-arms, bushings, sway bars, and shock absorbers, so this \'Vette tracks straight and rides like a new car. As an original piece, it\'s a little crusty under there, but it\'s from the south, so none of it is cause for worry. Correct Rally wheels now wear 225/70/15 Firestone white-letter radials. With lots of factory options, a top that goes down, a manual transmission, and that great Bryar Blue paint, this is an awesome Corvette for not a lot of cash. Call today!
